As an integral member of the Gwinnett Medical Center Clinical Nutrition team, the Registered Dietitian provides evidence-based clinical nutrition therapy, the dietitian develops and implements best practice models of clinical nutrition care. The dietitian ensures that patients receive the appropriate and optimal nutritional care by initiating and collaborating with patients, caregivers, their significant others, and the interprofessional team to systematically collect data on the health of each patient for initial screening; conducting in-depth assessment and on-going monitoring and reassessment; identifying priorities and strategies or interventions that best meet the individualized needs and achieve optimal outcomes for each patient; safely and effectively performing the strategies and interventions directed by the treatment program; and systematically evaluating the extent to which optimal outcomes have been achieved. The dietitian ensures excellence and continued advancement of the provision of nutrition services by actively delivering, coordinating and participating professional development activities.
Qualified candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Foods & Nutrition or similar area of interest. Candidate must be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Must have a current Georgia Dietitian license. At least 2 years of hospital experience is preferred, along with skills in patient assessment in the acute care environment. This is a PRN position. Candidate must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays if needed. Core hours are 8am-5pm.
