Support MillerCoors overall innovation agenda, and focus on the development of new products & brands from discovery and ideation all the way through to commercialization using the approved stage gate process. Capture growth in premium and mainstream segments complimentary to beer by feeding the early stages of the development funnel and providing a range of opportunities.

Strategy / Positioning of New Products


  • Supports the development of strategies based upon thoughtful consumer insights, thorough competitive and market analysis and a deep understanding of emerging North American and global cultural trends. 
  • Define and own the stage gate process to move through the pipeline.
  • Define the positioning for new brands in the pipeline.
    Discovery/Ideation (40%)
  • Support the strategic platforms and aligning and building a robust pool of ideas to mine.  
  • Build an innovation pipeline against strategic platforms
  • Develop consumer research programs (with Insights) to answer key questions
    Analysis
  • Analyze, recommend and lead as appropriate, transactions relevant to the company’s commercial success in new ‘white space’ markets.
  • Lead the analysis protocol – business case development, simulated test market, concept testing and associated hurdles and tracking mechanisms. 

Planning (process)


  • Plan appropriately through each stage of the innovation pipeline to ensure adequate depth/resources to meet business objectives.
  • Supports transitions of new products/new business projects to appropriate brand team following successful implementation.
  • Partnership Management (External)
    Develop supplier relationships to ensure Miller Coors is considered as the first option when suppliers identify new innovation opportunities. 

Communication Management (Internal & External Stakeholders)


  • This role requires communication skills across a number of parts of the business.   These will include working across the sales and distributor network and the operations and supply chain teams.
     




  • 5 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry, ideally in product/packaging development and innovation role with one or more blue-chip or food/beverage companies focused on driving growth through innovation.  
  • An exposure to and understanding of both immediate and take home consumer consumption is essential.
  • Three-tier distribution system experience is desirable but not required.   
  • Possess an undergraduate degree; an advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • A high work ethic and energy level.
