Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies is currently seeking a Principal Scientist in Los Angeles, CA.

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company Division of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. develops and markets baby care, wound care and skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby and AVEENO®, as well as leading skin care brands such as NEUTROGENA® and CLEAN & CLEAR®.

The Principal Scientist will be responsible to develop, validate, transfer and troubleshoot Analytical test methods for cleaning test methods and formulations. He/she is responsible for leading the investigation for Analytical out of specifications/out of trend (OOS/OOT), non-conformances, test method development, test method validation, test method transfer, stability, and technical troubleshooting. The individual will manage the workload to meet the aggressive timelines and be a member of required cross-functional teams representing Analytical. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

In addition, he/she is responsible for following all internal policies and procedures; manage stability testing, test method validations, residual solvent testing and associated activities with internal and external laboratories as it relates to product launches; compile and author documentation for product launches; provide technical guidance to the Analytical team and associated business partners; author and/or review all pertinent data and documentation; be a cross-functional team member on project teams providing feedback on product specifications, change controls, and associated activities for product launches; and perform prototype and reduced preservative testing.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelors degree and 9 years of professional experience OR a Masters degree and 7 years of professional experience OR a PhD and 5 years of professional experience is required. A strong working knowledge of Analytical test methods development, validation, and transfer required. Experience and/or working knowledge of HPLC, GC, wet chemistry and compendial techniques required. Must have excellent working knowledge of Empower, strong knowledge of cGMP requirements and have excellent documentation and communication skills.
