Qualifications
Required Skills:
- PhD, educational background will include a degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering in combination with a degree focused on Molecular Biology or Breeding, Plant Physiology, Plant Science or Ag-related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years experience building IT systems for a commercial agriculture breeding company creating and maintaining software specification documents to enable development teams to create the software
- Ability to understand complicated statistical methods, mathematical algorithms and commercial breeding workflows to work with breeders to define technical specification documents for software solutions to present complex phenotypic data in a way that enables breeders to make decisions
- Proven ability to manage data relationships and how to leverage data to drive creation of analytical workflows
- Experience analyzing and presenting complex data and proven problem solving abilities
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, leading & influencing people at varying levels of responsibility.
- Strong publication record in leading scientific journals and strong written communication skills
- Creates and maintain close working relationship with software developers, and tester to ensure product works as intended.
- Creates and maintain close working relationship the product support team and end users to ensure they are able to successfully use the delivered software.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to write SQL queries from a Schema to find desired information
- Experience creating GUI prototypes and Business Process Modeling
- Experience writing Test Driven Requirements and Use Case Scenarios
