On Tap with MillerCoors…

MillerCoors brews, markets and sells the MillerCoors portfolio of brands in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Built on a foundation of great beer brands and nearly 300 years of brewing heritage, MillerCoors continues the commitment of its founders to brew the highest quality beers. MillerCoors is the second-largest beer company in America, capturing nearly 30 percent of U.S. beer sales. Led by two of the best-selling beers in the industry, MillerCoors has a broad portfolio of highly complementary brands across every major industry segment. Miller Lite is the great-tasting beer that established the American light beer category in 1975, and Coors Light is the brand that introduced consumers to Rocky Mountain cold refreshment. MillerCoors brews premium beers Coors Banquet and Miller Genuine Draft, and economy brands Miller High Life and Keystone Light. Through its new craft and import company, Tenth and Blake, MillerCoors imports Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Pilsner Urquell, Grolsch and Molson Canadian and features craft brews from the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, Blue Moon Brewing Company and the Blitz-Weinhard Brewing Company. MillerCoors operates eight major breweries in the U.S., as well as the Leinenkugel’s craft brewery in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the Blue Moon Brewing Company at Coors Field in Denver, and several other small breweries / cideries across the United States. MillerCoors vision is to create America’s best beer company by driving profitable industry growth. MillerCoors insists on building its brands the right way through brewing quality, responsible marketing and environmental and community impact. MillerCoors is a joint venture of SABMiller plc and Molson Coors Brewing Company.

What could be brewing for you this summer...

At the beginning of the internship, all interns meet for orientation at headquarters in downtown Chicago and end at the Milwaukee brewery. Orientation incorporates activities and speakers to learn about the overall beer business.  Throughout the internship, you will have weekly meetings with your supervisor to discuss performance, goals, and projects.  To reinforce our high performance-driven culture, you will receive an evaluation halfway through your internship, as well as a final evaluation at the end.  Interns lead our Intern Committees with a given budget, such as Home Brewing, Newsletter, Philanthropic, Professional Development, and Social & Sports.  Our Intern Leadership Program is nationally recognized and part of that has to do with our unique Brew Crew Intern Network, which allows you to network with MillerCoors employees across divisions and at various levels and locations.

FinanceResponsibilities:

  • Each intern will be assigned to a specific functional Finance area.  The area could be one which provides support to internal customers in a division such as Marketing, Sales, or Operations.  It might also be an assignment in Corporate Finance or Internal Audit which provides a broader, company-wide experience.
  • Job duties will include specific, ad hoc projects that address unique issues or problems being confronted by the business.
  • Duties may also include periodic activities such as working on monthly close processes, budget analysis, weekly management reports, and comparisons of data and presentation of insights. Through these activities you may be exposed to financial tools such as SAP (enterprise system), Margin Minder/Nielsen sales reporting systems, and budgeting/forecasting programs.
  • Your duties will provide ample opportunities for interaction with other MillerCoors employees both inside and outside of Finance.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or have U.S. permanent work authorization and must be 21 years of age or older when the Intern Leadership Program begins June 1st.
