The intern position is typically responsible for providing support, for various departments from routine/entry level to graduate level experience. As part of a team under close supervision, Information Technology or Business interns at this level will assist in performing a variety of developmental assignments.
Department Function:
Enhance support for Kaiser Permanente Central Refill Pharmacy (CRP).
Help CRP introduce new technology.
Support current projects
Provide guidance and coordination with other KPIT groups.
Support current environments and applications.
Manage various technology vendors such as KNAPP, Royce, Intermec.
Coordinate system upgrades and enhancement for pharmacy using KPIT change controls tools
Job Duties:
The role will be Production Support, and will provide hardware, server and application support for the Central Refill Pharmacy,
a highly automated environment. Desktop support, handheld computer, and printer support experience needed to perform the duties of this position. Provide SUSE Unix server support, performing basic maintenance tasks, monitoring, backups, and troubleshooting
This position receives high-level direction from the lead/supervisor, but must work directly with the Pharmacy Operations management team with minimal daily direction.
The Education and experience for this position should be a Bachelor degree in Computer Information Systems or a related discipline and experience in data processing or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Day-to-day computer skills include review and interpretation of a number of web-based reporting tools, and monitoring and regulation of work queues and alarm systems to insure smooth production operations.

13. Assist with purchase orders for hardware and software procurement & other administrative duties. 14. Install and maintain network hardware and software.
15. Troubleshoot network usage and computer peripherals.
16. Install new users. Install new applications.
17. Perform system backups and data recovery.
18. Resolve network communication problems independently.
19. Assist with PC installation, maintenance, E-mail administration, disk capacity monitoring and network security.
20. Workstation Support / Desktop Support (Tier Level 2 or 3).
21. Hardware and software troubleshooting.
22. Ability to work well with other people in a team oriented environment .
23. Ability to install/deploy Windows based computers.
24. Must be self motivated and work with minimal supervision.
