This individual performs as a technical and industry resource in the operational support of Radiological Information Systems (RIS) within the Medical Imaging Sub-Portfolio department within the Care Delivery BIO. This position willhelp ensure that solution designs meet agreed upon requirements and milestones. The RIS application is a mission critical care delivery system.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor various application components to ensure availability.
- Communicate with key business partner and KPIT team members
- Use Remedy or similar CRM system for issue acknowledgement/tracking and change Mgmt.
- Document creation and maintenance for all primary and backup responsibilities
- Analyze the requests and writing queries/reports using PL/SQL and other extraction tools
- Responsible for analysis of the most complex business requirements, systems upgrades, workflows and application capabilities.
- Consults with clients, researching and troubleshooting issues to understand software build steps needed for production environment of business application.
- Works collaboratively with implementation teams to ensure process design, interface development, testing and implementation and user training are performed to quality standards.
- Reports on work progress and metrics
- Determines risk and communicates it to the client so they can make informed business decisions.
- Utilizes analysis to collaborate with users, analysts and consultants to determine solutions and required configurations to meet business requirements.
- Configures application based on analysis and collaborations to create builds.
- Tests application configurations and builds or does unit testing in non-production environments and reports on outcomes testing
- Reviews testing strategies for appropriateness to test the build or configurations to determine if they are ready for implementation.
- May perform some project management activities in the development and implementation of systems changes.
- Change request management including cost estimation, project documentation and user training.
- Designs and runs reports, gathers statistics and makes presentations regarding the supported software.
- Prepares builds for implementation into production.
- Trains on application functions, changes and improvements.
- Plans and communicates project implementations.
- Monitors implementations into production, makes adjustments as necessary.
- Assigns and oversees monitoring of cues of tasks. Reviews reported discrepancies and issues, may perform root cause analysis and offer resolution options.
- Identifies areas for work flow and process improvements. Vets ideas with team and works through applications improvements to implement.
- Understands the impact of the application on the organization and interdependencies. Articulates and communicates this impact to other employees and Business Partners.
- On team responsible to research issues and systems upgrades to understand software build steps needed for production environment of business application.
- Responsible to analyze business requirements, workflows and application capabilities.
- Utilizes analysis to collaborate with team of users, analysts and consultants to determine solutions and required configurations to meet business requirements
- Completes application configurations as directed by team members and/or vendor.
- Tests application configurations and builds or does unit testing in non-production environments and reports on outcomes noting issues
- Maintains appropriate documentation for change management.
- Assists with implementing builds into production.
- Monitors cues to trend routine tasks and reports issues or discrepancies
- Understands the basics of the application and the applicable business / operational areas supported by the application..
- Runs reports based on pre-determined criteria.
- Provides professional/technical guidance to team members.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS or related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in analysis of complex business requirements, systems upgrades, workflows and application capabilities.
- Experience with GE Centricity RIS (formerly IDX)
- 3+ Healthcare Medical Imaging RIS experience and or Informatics.
- 3+ years experience with MS Windows Administration.
- 4+ years experience with SQL and or relational database
- 2+ years experience using SQL, PL/SQL, and VB programming languages .
- 5+ years demonstrated problem solving skills
- 5+ years experience using interface standards of HL7 and DICOM
- 5+ years experience using MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience using MS Project and Visio
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal)
- Experience with Crystal Reports (v 8.5 or higher) or other report writer application
-Experience with Networking TCP/IP, etc.
- Willingness to participate in 24x7 on call pager / cell support rotation
- Ability to diagnose and solve complex/technical problems.
- Must be business savvy with the technical ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment with the end user.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years project deployment experience
- Experience with EPIC , Clarity or KPHC application is preferred.
- Data analytics experience.
- Experience analyzing healthcare and/or financial data, Medical Imaging
- Experience with data quality procedures.
- Ability to incorporate automation-- can strategically consider/ present work flow efficiencies
- Client server, Java html, HL7 development experience highly preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows in the healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of business / operational area supported by application.
