Assists Pharmacy Operations Leader to provide leadership & management of Outpatient Pharmacy Services & Regional Centralized Pharmacy Operations to assure consistent high levels of performance in pharmaceutical care, service & operations. Supports the Pharmacy Operations Leader to achieve Regional goals across all practice settings.Collaborates w/ Regional/Area leadership, Union leadership & Medical Group leadership to provide direction & oversight to maintain & improve operational performance. Collaborates w/ Pharmacy Operations Leader, Southern California & other California Pharmacy Leaders in development & execution of strategy for delivery of pharmaceutical care, service & operations in Southern California to: Optimally utilize & integrate centralized support services & technology. Integrate processes to assure the quality of pharmaceutical care & services across practice settings w/ focus on outpatient pharmacy & to assure regulatory & corporate compliance. Functions in a direct supervisory role to the Centralized Pharmacy Services Managers & an indirect supervisory role to the Pharmacy Services Managers. Provide leadership to assure the professional/management development at the individual level for managers of Centralized Services & their direct reports to assure high performing teams & personnel necessary for the long term success of Pharmacy Services in KP. Assure pharmacy space needs are incorporated into master planning activities. Allocate operating budget across Outpatient Pharmacy Services & Centralized Services to assure appropriate resource utilization & consistent operations & scope of service. Monitor performance against budgets & makes appropriate adjustments to achieve financial goal.
Essential Functions:
- Provides leadership, direction, & management of Outpatient Pharmacy Services & Centralized Pharmacy Services to assure consistent high levels of performance in pharmaceutical care, service & operations across all outpatient pharmacies in the Region
- Participates in the development & execution of strategy for delivery of outpatient pharmaceutical care, service & operations in Southern California w/ consistent implementation at the local and/or regional level
- Provides leadership & direction to the Regional Centralized Operations personnel
- Provides ongoing leadership & direction to enhance member service
- Responsible for the development & implementation of Regional Outpatient & Centralized Operations operating & capital budgets
- Assist the Pharmacy Operations Leader, Southern California to: Work collaboratively w/ Drug use Management Leadership to assure appropriate use of pharmaceuticals consistent implementations of drug use initiatives & support of care management initiatives
- Work collaboratively w/ Pharmacy Quality Leadership to assure consistent deployment of processes & tools to measure & assure the quality of pharmaceutical care, operations & seek out, promote & facilitate the rapid adoption & assimilation of best practices & innovations in service, work methods, technology & operational systems which improve pharmacy service, quality & productivity in the region, consistent w/ CA strategy
- Sponsors, tests & evaluates new technology & innovation & ensures successful technology & innovations are rapidly transferred throughout Southern California pharmacies
-Provide leadership & direction to assure compliance w/ Pharmacy law, regulation, pharmacy business practices, accreditation standards & other KP policies
- Work collaboratively w/ California Pharmacy Leadership in the development & allocation of operating budgets in outpatient & centralized pharmacy operations to assure appropriate resource utilization, consistent operations & scope of services provided, w/ monitoring of performance against operating plans & adjustments implemented as necessary & appropriate
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of leadership-level experience & documented record of success in management of Service Area or regional pharmacy operations
- Knowledgeable & experienced in Pharmacy operations, systems, technology & personnel management
- Degree in Pharmacy required
- Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, Health Services or Business Administration preferred
- Licensed to practice pharmacy by the California Board of Pharmacy or ability to obtain license within specified time, if licensed outside of California
- Demonstrated ability to utilize effective communication, presentation, financial management & analytical skills required
- Demonstrated track record of self-initiative, strategic thinking & successful planning & innovation
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively w/ physicians & health care administrators
- Demonstrated ability to apply & utilize knowledge of quality management process, as well as Pharmacy & related Medical, Nursing & other health care laws, regulations & standards
- Proficiency w/ personal computer usage necessary for monitoring & reporting financial & operational performance
- Demonstrated ability to lead & manage professionals & others through influence & collaboration across multiple sites
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead & direct peer groups & interdisciplinary project teams
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of personnel management principles & techniques
- Frequent travel within California required
