The Data Architect ensures that enterprise data assets are effectively managed and utilized to support the organizationâ s strategic goals. Develops data models and integration designs consistent with Enterprise Information Management principles.
Collaborates with key IT stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet projectsâ information requirements and fit within the broader enterprise architecture context. Provides thought leadership in data management strategies, governance and design.
Strategic Leadership and Governance:
· Develop core enterprise data architecture principles.
· Define target architectures to support components of the Data Management and Reporting Conceptual architecture.
· Develop domain specific, e.g. Master Data or Advanced Analytics, architecture pattern as required.
·Govern projects for adherence to standards and to approved architectures.
· Responsible for architectural governance of multiple data management development efforts.
· Engage with project teams to ensure their solutions are consistent with the defined future state enterprise architecture.
· Help plan and sequence inter-project data dependencies.
Partner with industry analysts, software vendors and internal stakeholders to develop data architecture strategies.
Project -Related Deliverables and Tasks:
· Develop Conceptual Data Model and Conceptual Data Flow for project and secure approval among Architecture peers.
· Review and assist in development of resource plans and estimates for data related components of solution.
· Ensure that application data models and integration designs are consistent with the approved Models and Conceptual Data Flows.
·Provide leadership to projects in resolving data and data integration design issues.
Education Level and/or Experience:
·Minimum qualification requirement: educated to a Bachelor degree level, advanced degree a plus
·CPG (consumer packaged goods) or beverage industry experience strongly preferred.
·Experience in the implementation of medium to large scale integrated systems preferably in an SAP application environment
·Experience in the implementation of medium to large-scale integrated systems
·Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior colleagues.
5+ years of experience in one or more :
1. Data Warehousing
2. Business Intelligence / Reporting
3. Data Integration (ETL, EAI)
4. Data Modeling
5. Master Data Management
Skills and or Knowledge:
·Strong working knowledge of
1. Data Modeling
2. Software development life cycle
3. Data management principles
·Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team as well as independently, under own initiative
·Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· This includes ability to develop graphically oriented designs in modeling tools like ERwin or Visio.
·Excellent analytical skills.
·Ability to plan, scope and provide estimates for work effort, producing quality deliverables on time and in budget
