Supports the Strategic Management Consulting Department's goals & accountabilities by partnering w/ customers & colleagues to translate strategic plans into the realization of significant business results through project execution & delivery using a comprehensive Performance Improvement Approach. Responsible for project scoping, execution, mentoring, coaching, & training individual contributors & managers in the systematic use & application of the Performance Improvement tools & techniques. Serves as a liaison to 1 or more of the following departments, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Finance, etc. Maintains & supports a culture of compliance, ethics & integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies & procedures & performs in accordance w/ the Principles of Responsibilities & applicable regulatory requirements, external laws & accreditation standards. Appropriately reports observed fraud or abuse.

Essential Functions
- Manages the coordination, execution, & delivery of large scale, cross-functional KPCO PI projects
- Identifies & evaluates significant Performance Improvement opportunities
- Reviews project requests & assesses fit w/ department resources, skills, strategic fit & value to company
- Leads project staff in meeting deliverables
- Integrates varied stakeholders' interest in pursuit of a combined goal
- Serves as an internal expert on performance improvement tools & techniques
- Forges relationships w/ senior level client sponsors to facilitate program success
- Makes formal presentations to various audiences w/ persuasive results
- Establishes partnerships w/ other departments to enhance their capabilities
- Partners w/ local labor union leaders to facilitate Unit Based Team's overall success
- Leverage relationships in PI Community (internal & external to KP) to promote, advance, & incorporate best practices
- Identifies industry trends, conducts research to understand key issues, & applies to KP
- Advises & supports all levels of management for project teams from both the Health Plan & CPMG regarding change management skills needed to successfully deliver project results
- Provides mentoring, coaching, & training to individual contributors & managers in the systematic use & application of the Performance Improvement tools & techniques
- Coordinates & leverages work w/ variety of departments within KP
- In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors & principles defined by the KP Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives
- Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, & behaviors necessary to provide superior & culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, & to purchasers, contracted providers & vendors
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
- 8 years experience working in a complex corporate environment
- 4 years experience working directly w/ Performance Improvement concepts/tools utilizing metrics & benchmarks which resulted in sustained improvements
- At least 1 project completed w/ estimated value of greater than $1 million in project benefit
- Demonstrated experience making presentations to small & large groups
- Bachelor's degree required
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills w/ all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to assess complex situations & data, & reduce it to important & actionable tactics
- Empowers, motivates & challenges staff; actively works w/ staff to develop & enhance individual talents
- Strong emotional intelligence skills required
- Politically astute
- Lean or 6 Sigma certification or equivalent required within 1 year of hire

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration, health care administration, quality management, or a related field is preferred
- Experience involving organizational culture change highly preferred
- Experience w/ formal project management preferred
