Description
The Customer Innovations Group is responsible for identifying and developing new products and growth businesses for the franchise within its current site of care (Emerging Markets) based on deep customer insights. He/she will lead a collaborative cross-functional team to identify and refine key customer insights, create and develop solution concepts, build and articulate business cases and define, manage and decrease risks. The Director, Customer Innovation will be responsible for building the reasoning for new business opportunities including conducting extensive customer and marketplace research and innovation sessions that lead to opportunity identification, market sizing, and channel strategy. They will become experts on their sites of care with a relentless focus on key stakeholders including identifying targets whether they be clinicians (physicians, referring physicians, nurses and other KOLs), Providers (hospital administration), or patients. He/she will need to have demonstrated skills in consumer understanding including data exploration, ethnographies or other consumer closeness, consumer and design research and brainstorming and ideation. They should have proven success in Concept Development including innovative design and consumer engagement and be adept at gaining project approvals based on solid business case development. They will be responsible for overseeing and marching new business opportunities through filtering channels and shaping ideas from concept to development. A proven track record with translating VOC into business opportunities and then successfully managing "Marketing Development Projects" to fruition is imperative. This role will require someone with prior experience in complex channel and pathway clearance.
Qualifications
Key job responsibilities include VOC focus, identifying and valuing new business opportunities, building and executing extensive market research plans, partnering internally and externally to develop products/solutions including shepherding opportunities through internal development or external L&A process. Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned. He/she should possess: Strong team leadership skills, strong analytical skills, expertise in finding deep customer insights, expertise in marketing strategy, business case development skills, intellectual curiosity, learning agility, demonstrated success across multiple categories/industries, experience in innovation and creating new businesses/products/services/models. BA/BS degree is required, MBA is preferred. Healthcare and Consumer Marketing preferred. A minimum of 15 years work experience in progressively responsible positions within marketing is required. Experience assessing and valuing unmet medical needs and potential business opportunities in a commercial setting is strongly required. Experience directly managing cross-functional teams is required as direct reports will include marketing, clinical and R&D. Emerging Markets position will be based in Shanghai, China. Must be able to travel up to 35% domestically and internationally.
