R&D Manager, Customer Innovation - Emerging Markets-OCD-??-0000097W

The Customer Innovation R&D Scientist is responsible for identifying and developing new products and growth businesses for the franchise within its current site of care. He/she will be responsible for participating in extensive customer and marketplace research and innovation sessions that lead to opportunity identification, market sizing, and channel strategy. They will become experts on their sites of care with relentless focus on key stakeholders including clinicians (physicians, referring physicians, nurses and other KOLs), Providers (hospital administration) and patients. They will have expertise in developing and protecting intellectual property, performing strategic technology situation assessments, and developing realizable technology solutions for testing. They will conduct technology readiness assessments, project risk management plans and understand the regulatory environment for development. They will also manage the scope, schedule, resources, budget and project risks.

Qualifications


He/she should possess: Technical knowledge, intellectual curiosity, learning agility, commercial interest, demonstrated success across multiple categories/industries, experience in innovation and creating new businesses/products/services/models. A BS, MS or PhD degree in Science or a related field is required. MBA is preferred. A minimum of 8 years of related experience is required. Healthcare industry experience required (Consumer, Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device and Diagnostics). Diagnostics industry experience preferred. Emerging Markets position will be based in Shanghai, China. Must be able to travel up to 35% domestically and internationally.
