Description

The Customer Innovation Clinical Director is responsible for identifying and developing new products and growth businesses for the franchise within its current site of care. He/she will be responsible for participating in extensive customer and marketplace research and innovation sessions that lead to opportunity identification, market sizing, and channel strategy. They will become experts on their sites of care with a relentless focus on key stakeholders including Clinicians (physicians, referring physicians, nurses and other KOLs), Providers (hospital administration), and patients. Additionally, they will partner with business partners and teams to reach the payer stakeholder. He/she will establish an in-depth understanding of target unmet needs, analyze current products/service approaches, develop pre-clinical models, testing plans and strategies, create customer/problem statements to facilitate idea generation, perform internal and external analysis of market structures, key drivers, care pathways, clinical procedures, clinical and economic stakeholder conflicts, and the clinical environment (including studies, publications, and models). He/she will conduct high-level and detailed assessments of unmet medical needs and sites of care for opportunities; Develop recommendations for acquisitions, licensing, and research collaboration agreements based on addressing unmet medical needs; Maintain awareness of new and emerging opportunities related to Ortho Clinical Diagnostics strategic interests; Represent the interests of the patient and clinicians for the assessment of growth opportunities introduced by other team members. He/she will work with third-party payer groups and having an understanding and knowledge of the reimbursement is strongly preferred. The Medical Assessment Director will serve as the voice of the patient or clinician and establish and maintain effective relationships with selected scientific and clinical key opinion leaders, professional societies and medical innovators at universities, research institutions, emerging companies and key Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical research groups. This candidate will need to have strong collaborative skills and be able to effectively communicate the potential clinical value and risk of growth opportunities to senior management.

Qualifications


He/she should possess: Expertise partnering with healthcare professionals, government/regulatory agencies and third-party groups, strong clinical knowledge across multiple fields (generalist), intellectual curiosity, learning agility, commercial interest, demonstrated success across multiple categories/industries, experience in innovation and creating new businesses/products/services/models. A MD is strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of related experience is required. Healthcare industry experience required (Consumer/ Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device and Diagnostics). Diagnostics industry experience preferred. Emerging Markets position will be based in Shanghai, China. Must be able to travel up to 35% domestically and internationally.
