An exciting new opportunity has arisen in Janssen's External Affairs team for a Senior Marketing Manager, heading up the Market Access department. Within this high profile position you will be developing market access strategies and business plans in partnership with the External Affairs Leadership Team, and lead the Market Access Marketing team to achieve accelerated, broad and effective market/patient access and funding for priority core brands and pipeline products.

Key Activities within the role include:

Marketing and Value Proposition

- Develop and maintain networks of external and internal stakeholders in order to ensure an in-depth knowledge of customer and marketplace to track and anticipate changes in order to prepare the organisation with appropriate MA strategies and tools to respond in a timely fashion
- Develop customer and marketplace insights in order to lead the development of the value proposition and optimum communication materials/tools to support effective and impactful customer engagement
- Develop the competency of the PM and SPMs to apply best practice Marketing Excellence principles and choices to the MAST, to ensure a high quality, consistent and structured approach to developing value propositions

Market Access and MAST Team Leadership

- Actively engage with business leaders to create an aligned MA strategy for priority core brands and pipeline products
- Lead, empower and performance management the allocated MAST team leaders and drive accountability for performance within the MASTs.
- Inspire and motivate the MAST team leaders (PMs and SPMs in MA) to achieve their objectives, ensuring the team are integrated and aligned as to the vision, objectives, tasks and outputs of the MAST team.
- Recruit, coach and develop MA marketing team to ensure high and appropriate levels of competence in leading cross functional MAST teams
- Support the team to identify and overcome barriers to achieving MAST and MA Marketing objectives (risks and issues) and manage them appropriately.
- Create and continually improve robust and standardised MAST planning processes that balance long term strategic thinking and short term execution and deliverables.
- Support MAST leads to manage risk and develop operating practices that drive adherence to J&J compliance requirements, company SOP's and ABPI code of practice
- Hold MASTs accountable for delivery of SMART objectives which aim to achieve broad and accelerated market access for the brand.
- Engage with senior leader to seek feedback on the efficacy and efficiency of the MASTs and areas for improvement and keep them appraised of the performance of the MAST against milestones
- Continually benchmark MAST performance using internal and external best in class/aspirational analogues to create a vision of MA excellence.
- Create MA dashboards to track performance in real time against MA milestones and deliverables.
- Create open and constructive partnerships with other External Affairs functions to drive flawless execution of the MA strategy
- Drive a unified high performing MA marketing team that shares best practice across MAST teams and works together to continually drive high performance#

Business Planning

- Lead the Market Access element of the External Affairs business plan, coordinating the integration of other EA functions on behalf of the directorate to draw together the overall External Affairs business plan through timely engagement with EALT, business units and senior management during company business planning processes.
- Identify trends/changes in the external environment and the implications, threats and opportunities for Janssen.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach ensuring that the EALT leverages customer insight to take decisions.
- Actively participate in the EALT in order to develop and maintain EA strategy and aligned activities on what we as a directorate are trying to achieve.
- Implement the Market Access elements of the EA business plan through leadership of the MA marketing team
- Contribute broadly and beyond own functional area of expertise.

Qualifications

-Degree level educated as a minimum.
-Significant experience gained in pharmaceutical marketing (either brand aligned or within a market access post).
-Able to demonstrate experience and expertise in market access strategy (could have been gained in either a field based post or a strategic marketing role).
-Leadership experience. Able to articulate and demonstrate an ability to achieve results through others.
-Competent people manager with experience in leading and coaching direct reports to high levels of performance; able to manage difficult conversations, ensure appropriate competency levels are developed in the team and confident in how to appropriately hold others accountable.
-Cross-sector working; demonstrated via either a cross-country role, or a cross-sector post within an affiliate group.
-Demonstrable skills in external networking/relationship building. Strong working knowledge of NHS.
-Commercial Acumen. Ability to interpret implications of the external environment on our business and leverage these to our advantage/prepare our business to respond/anticipate and capitalise on change.
-Strategic thinking and planning.
-Strong drive for results. Able to effectively manage a team to ensure strategy is translated into commercially aligned deliverables.
