Description

McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc is currently recruiting for a Senior Director Technical Operations, Packaging located in Fort Washington, PA.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants.

This position will lead the NA OTC packaging group and be responsible for all technical aspects of packaging at McNeil NA OTC throughout the lifecycle (i.e. packaging materials and specifications, packaging validation, packaging equipment engineering, tech transfer and packaging site support). This role has direct accountability for packaging related quality system elements ofwithin the Consent Decree. This position has direct responsibility for leading the integration of several packaging organizations into one reporting into Technical Operations.

This position reports directly to the VP NA OTC, Technical Operations.

Leads the packaging lifecycle process with responsibility for following aspects : packaging materials and specifications, packaging validation, packaging equipment engineering, site support, EM support. Develops and leads the integration of the new organization which includes organizational elements and process design elements. Develops business strategies and aligns projects, resources and budget to deliver against organizational goals. Direct accountability for packaging related quality system elements within the Consent Decree. Possesses deep understanding of industry trends & best practices, developing & executing strategies across multiple technologies from innovation, commercialization, business continuity and value savings. Demonstrated leadership track record in recruiting, developing and retaining talent. Fosters a Credo based environment. Effectively partners with cross functional business leaders to ensure that quality, compliance, innovation and global consistency is realized for the internal business organization. Identifies and improves business and work processes to share knowledge, enhance organization capabilities, and promote.

Qualifications


Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical degree. A MS/MBA is highly preferred. A minimum of 15 years of business experience is required as is a minimum of 8 years of direct experience in Supply Chain or Operations or a related field (Engineering/Packaging) . A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is required. Candidates must possess a deep knowledge of a technical field and substantial depth as well as breadth in understanding packaging and engineering process is required. Experience in an OTC or Pharmaceutical organization is highly preferred. General knowledge of relevant compliance environments (ie: FDA, etc) is required. Experience with Technical Transfers, packaging development and packaging equipment is required. Lean Manufacturing Training is also preferred. Knowledge of MS Office including MS Excel and PowerPoint applications is required. Advanced collaboration, influencing skills, negotiation skills, strategic thinking skills, analytical and written/oral communication skills are required. Advanced organizational, collaboration/interpersonal, supervisory and leadership skills and business acumen are required. A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization and develop productive relationships across organization boundaries is required. A proven ability to communicate and present to Board level executives and Senior Leaders is required. All candidates must be self starters and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while possessing the ability to manage difficult issues and implement positive change. This position will be based in Fort Washington, PA and may require up to 30% domestic and international travel.
