Description
Ethicon, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Capacity Planner, located in Cornelia, GA (approximately one hour from the Greater Atlanta area).

The Capacity Planner will be responsible for ensuring that the highest customer service is achieved with the lowest inventory investment through managing capacity and creating an optimal schedule for the production of products for the business unit. This individual will drive customer service and inventory results for their assigned codes. Act as the Business Unit Manager's customer service champion and recommend actions to achieve service and inventory objectives. Provide guidance on any activity that affects capacity required to achieve short-term production volume, which would include making recommendation to the Business Unit Manager on the need to run overtime to achieve production requirements. Develop labor, productivity and utilization models to guarantee business unit capabilities (operational capacities) are available to achieve production rates. Provide weekly and daily direction to the manufacturing Business Unit Manager and leadership team to ensure required production levels are achieved. Ensure optimum mix of codes and quantities are scheduled within available capacity on a daily basis. Coordinate with supply chain partners to ensure raw materials are available to achieve production plan.
The Capacity Planner will work with the Supply Planner to identify proper allocation of scarce raw materials. Identify root causes to issues and recommend corrective actions affecting ability to run the short-term production plan. Optimize system planning parameters to drive accurate production signals (i.e. order minimums, multiples, maximums). Ensure the Process Excellence team updates planning parameters to reflect demonstrated manufacturing capability (i.e. lead time, yield, scrap rates, usage rates). Ensure planned events (conversion/transfers) affecting production do not impact customer service or inventory goals. This individual will also be responsible for creating Item Change Orders (ICOs) necessary to support planned events/base business, Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy and for managing/mapping capacity within the Advanced Planning System. Ensure Johnson & Johnson affiliate product requirements are satisfied. Participate in and support the GOALS and Sales and Operations Planning processes. Provide PSIs and Customer Service Communications. Provide information as necessary to track/trend customer service, inventory and performance metrics. Correct work orders as required. Perform other work related duties as assigned by supervisor. Follow current compliance regulations and standards. Comply with all federal regulated programs.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of 4 years of related planning experience is preferred. A minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience in a Medical Device manufacturing environment is preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures is preferred. Knowledge of vertically integrated manufacturing processes preferred. Supply chain/operations experience is preferred. Experience working with suppliers is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Cognos and JD Edwards (JDE) preferred. Process Excellence/Six Sigma training and/or use of tools preferred. Process Excellence/Six Sigma Certification preferred. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Certified in Supply Chain Planning (CSCP) preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal relationship skills. The ability to collaborate with all levels of management in a cross-functional team environment is required. The ability to work off-shift and weekend hours, as needed by business, is required.
