The Manager of Pump Sales is an inside sales position responsible for leading and expanding sales of Animas insulin pumps by providing strategic direction, leadership, and management of a call center. The call center handles and helps drive pump sales orders to support Animas' explosive which growth in the insulin pump market. The incumbent will be responsible for interdependent partnering with Animas business partners and the franchise commercial teams to set business direction and expectations.
The successful candidate sets and communicates overall direction for the Inside Sales Supervisors and their direct reports to achieve pumps sales revenue targets. In partnership with the sales leadership team, the Manager of Pump Sales defines strategic directions for the inside pump sales team, manage headcount, and departmental requirements, establishes & oversees departmental sales forecasts, goals, and commission plan structure. The individual ensures sales activities are in compliance with all federal/national, state, local and company regulations, policies and procedures (e.g., JNJ Healthcare Compliance Standards, HIPPAA, EH&S, etc.).
The incumbent seeks leveraging opportunities to make strategic decisions that affect cost, quality and speed to ensure successful outcomes of pump sales and marketing, works with Accounts Receivable Team to ensure insurance verifications are being properly done and money collected with minimal bad debt, and drives departmental sales excellence through the implementation of proven sales techniques. They encourage teamwork between inside sales and the field sales team to help enable them to meet sales targets and answering customer questions, as well as utilize the employment of selling techniques to be concise, professional, and persuasive that leads the customer to action. The individual holds responsibility for the management of inside pump sales functions, including review of pump sales reports and budget oversight, provides creative, innovative and credo based leadership, and possess the ability to act quickly and accurately in all areas of call center operations including employee relations.
Other duties include recruiting, developing, and retaining a talented staff. They are responsible for providing coaching, performance evaluations and creating development plans and activities for direct reports. Including the creation and tracking of the performance objectives for the Inside Sales Representatives. They also actively promote knowledge seeking and sharing through careful communication, team building initiatives and providing opportunities. (Meetings, Events, Showcases, Forums, Etc.).
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required. A minimum of 8 years of related experience is required. Customer Service or related sales experience in a call center capacity with a proven track record of success is required. Previous experience working in general health care environments and government regulated companies, customer service is highly preferred. Proven experience managing and leading a dynamic sales workforce is required. In-depth knowledge & proven track record of innovative sales techniques with the ability to generate a better customer experience and methods to generate new pump sales revenues within a call center setting will be needed. Project Management, planning, organizational and change management skills are required. Strong business partnering skills are a must. Negotiation and influencing skills are required. Must have the ability to set priorities and manage a variety of tasks. Ability to work in an ambiguous environment is required. Demonstrated capacity to skillfully communicate with all levels of employees, influence outcomes and establish credibility is needed. Excellent written & verbal communication skills are required. Demonstrated ability to deal with individuals of diverse backgrounds is required. Experience in a FDA, regulated industry is strongly preferred. Up to 10% domestic travel is required.
