The Staff Engineer, Advanced Process Technology leads and supports process and equipment development projects to improve BWI catheter manufacturing processes. This hands-on position provides critical technical expertise and leadership for successful execution of APT projects from concepts to implementation. Abilities and skills to influence and hold both internal and external partners accountable for delivering results are the key to her or his success. The Staff Engineer indentifies opportunities for manufacturing process and equipment improvement, proposes technical solutions and demonstrates feasibility and value and leads execution of projects from initiation to implementation. The position coordinates and negotiates for effective collabration among team members, inculding internal cross function members and external partners and suppliers, to ensure timely results. The Staff Engineer conducts cause and effects analysis and provide creative solutions to complex technical issues and problems to move projects forward and communicates and consults with key stakeholders for critical decisions. The position is located in Irwindale, CA and may require up to 10% domestic and international travel.
Qualifications
It is required of the Staff Engineer, Advanced Process Technology to have a minimum of a BS degree in an Engineering Discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial; Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. It is also preferred the successful candidate possess an MS or graduate degree. It is required the Staff Engineer have a minimum of 7 years relevant experience. It is required to possess mechanical design, automation equipment, fixture development and manufacturing process development and implementation experience. It is preferred the successful candidate possess mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, component manufacturing processes (plastics, metals, printed circuit boards), equipment implementation and troubleshooting and process validation and implementation experience.
It is required the Staff Engineer be capable of completing design and engineering tasks with minimal support, be highly proficient with SolidWorks and have strong verbal and written communication skills. It is preferred the successful candidate have medical device manufacturing experience and knowledge of the FDA regulated environment. It is required the Staff Engineer possess the ability to influence decision making in a cross-functional matrix environment, ability to present information in an organized fashion to train, communicate and gain alignment and ability to partner and collaborate with associates and business partners. The position is located in Irwindale, CA and may require up to 10% domestic and international travel.
