As a physical therapist at Marianjoy, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team of skilled clinicians. You will utilize advanced clinical protocols to serve adult and pediatric patients in a variety of areas including brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular, orthopedic/ musculoskeletal and pain management.

The physical therapist provides safe and effective physical therapy services including the evaluation of physical performance ability to persons impaired by physical illness or injury, congenital or developmental disability and/or the aging process. The physical therapist analyzes, selects and applies goal directed interventions for the treatment or prevention of these impairments/functional limitations to achieve maximum independence. The physical therapist has the ultimate responsibility for the provision of services including the supervision of physical therapy support personnel.


Education:
Degree from a school of Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) is required. Maintenance of a license to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Illinois (or licensure application on file with the State Department of Professional Regulation) is required. Maintains current CPR certification.

Experience:
Two to three years of previous work experience delivering physical therapy services in a program and environment similar to Marianjoy is preferred. New graduates may be qualified if clinical fieldwork experience is applicable and supervision by an experienced physical therapist is available.

Knowledge:
Applicable assessment and treatment knowledge of preferred practice patterns related to various patient populations. Understanding of state, federal, and professional practice laws, regulations, and licensing requirements. Basic proficiency with a computer keyboard is required.
