Johnson & Johnson IT Shared Services, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Technology Manager, Web & Application Services located in Raritan, NJ.

The Technology Manager will be a member of the platform engineering team responsible for the design and architecture definition for J&J platforms used to host enterprise applications. This includes state of the art internal Java and .NET platforms as well as cloud computing services. He/she will collaborate with solution architects and other internal development resources to provide guidance on platform architecture to ensure new applications are launched in alignment with business objectives and according to agreed upon J&J IT global standards.

The candidate will also provide level 3 technical support to a large existing base of global applications running primarily on Java and .NET. Many of these applications perform business critical functions and operate in highly regulated environments including, but not limited to, SoX and GxP. Other activities include capacity planning exercises, development and execution of platform enhancements, and creation of new offerings to complement the existing service, as required by business demand.

The successful candidate will have a generic applications design and/or systems engineering background with a demonstrated ability to manage a large Java or .NET environment. Knowledge of emerging datacenter, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS trends and standards is important as is the ability to determine overall platform solution direction for a 12 - 18 month window.

Must be able to carry out multiple complex tasks in parallel with a minimum of guidance and be comfortable providing detailed guidance to others. The position requires frequent interactions with cross-functional teams including developers, business units, security, risk management and external partners.

Qualifications


This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree and 10 years of overall IT experience. In addition this position will require a minimum of 5 years of combined experience successful delivery or development of Java platforms and applications. Experience using IaaS, PaaS or SaaS capabilities to deliver tangible business value is preferred.

Strong domain knowledge in Java computing technologies and related disciplines is also required. Experience managing Oracle's Weblogic application server in a highly available clustered environment is preferred. Knowledge of framework and web service components including ODBC, JMS, JSON, SOAP, REST, etc., as well as a working knowledge of UNIX/?Linux operating systems is required. This position requires the ability to drive problem-solving strategies for complex issues involving cross-functional disciplines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong team leadership skills are required for this role.

In addition, working knowledge of network concepts such as the TCP/IP stack, load balancing, firewalls, network routing, security, and databases is strongly preferred. This position requires a goal oriented individual who is motivated to succeed in a dynamic environment.

The ability to handle stressful situations and demanding customers is required.

Experience with common scripting languages (JavaScript, SH, Perl, PHP ) is preferred. Experience working with mission critical applications is preferred. This position will require 5-10% travel and will be based in Raritan, NJ.
