Group Leader - Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics - Pencoed-000007QT

Description

Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics provides professional diagnostic products to hospital laboratories, commercial clinical laboratories and blood donor centres. Its products include diagnostic reagents and instrument systems for clinical chemistry, immunodiagnostics, blood grouping and blood screening.

A vacancy exists to organise and lead a team responsible for the production of in-process and/or finished products to meet business output needs.

Responsibilities include:

- Prioritises and schedules work to meet business needs.
- Works on the production line as necessary to cover breaks and short absences.
- Keep accurate records and measures of production methods, test results and performance indices.
- Participate in the set up of new procedures and processes.
- Operate in line with company quality standards such as ISO9001 and appropriate regulatory authorities such as the US FDA.
- Act as focus for communication with other work areas.
- Provide the leadership and training required to achieve empowered and motivated individuals and effective co-operation within and between teams.
- Ensure all staff have up to date job descriptions, training plans & records and goals in line with the needs of the business.
- Carry out staff appraisals to agreed timetable and assist the Value Stream Supervisor in the provision of development plans.
- Assist Value Stream Supervisor in selection and recruitment of staff.
- Advises and monitors spend against an agreed budget.

Qualifications


- Is degree qualified or equivalant combination of training and experience.
- Use of Microsoft Office tools for communications and reporting
- Working level of computer literacy.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work
- Organisational skills
- Experience will be expected to be in a production environment, either within OCD or a related industry or within a factory environment
- Team Leader experience
