Solution Consulting: The Solution Consulting Lead is responsible for consulting with Business Partners to define the business problem, document requirements, develop solution alternatives with estimates and translate client's business requirements into specific systems, applications, infrastructure or process designs. The Integrated Systems Delivery Team as part of the NFS BIO partners with Kaiser Permanente's National Facilities Service (NFS), Clinical Technology and Clinical Operations groups to provide the IT integration and deployment services needed to support various technology integration projects at Kaiser Permanente. This position is a technical one that will focus on supporting new technology solutions driven by the needs of our partners with specific focus on process design and strategic solutioning for enterprise clinical system platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Project $: up to $25M, including multiple sites or regions, or up to 10 interdependent work tracks.
- Participates in integrated systems planning and recommends alternative technologies that will enhance current or anticipated information systems that support overall corporate and business goals.
- Provide input on supply and demand management.
- Coordinates the development of comprehensive business cases with cost, service, and benefit dimensions of proposed projects that are used at management and executive levels for funding and scope decisions.
- Plans, coordinates and conducts the analysis of client business processes and functional requirements and the preparation of appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
- Independently initiates, identifies and coordinates the analysis of complex client needs in project areas such as: new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment.
- Participates in the leadership of cross-functional and/or cross-divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications.
- Develops the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective solutions that support client business processes and functional requirements and resource costs.
- Advises clients on the consequences of actions. Communicates risks and ensures understanding of these risks. Jointly develops risk assessment of plan with client. Provides on-going communication.
- Complex projects or multiple projects of moderate complexity.
- Consults on the identification and definition of solution alternatives within the frameworks provided by Enterprise Architecture.
- Participates in Enterprise Architecture integration, partnering and coordination activities.
- Participate in release packaging decisions, evaluating potential negative impacts and recommending solutions for small or less complex projects.
- Provides leadership and direction to clients in consulting, planning, and marketing multiple, complex automated systems.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 4 years of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in solutions consulting including defining requirements, developing solution alternatives and estimates and translating client's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for large complex IT solutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.) Minimum 2 years of IT infrastructure design experience
2.) Minimum 3 years of Business Process Management experience
3.) General understanding of the Health Care Industry
4.) General understanding of Biomed Devices a plus
5.) General understanding of wired and wireless network design
6.) RFID/RTLS experience a plus
7.) Server Platform design experience a plus.
