Johnson & Johnson Consumer Group of Companies develops and markets consumer healthcare, baby care, and beauty/skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby, BAND-AID® Brand, LISTERINE®, leading skin care brands such as NEUTROGENA®, AVEENO®, CLEAN & CLEAR®, LUBRIDERM® and healthcare products such as NEOSPORIN®, CORTAID®, REMBRANDT® and REACH®.

The Commodity Manager, Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America will be a leader within the organization with many opportunities for executive exposure regionally and globally. This individual will collaboratively design and implement global and regional sourcing strategies that deliver best Total Value for the J&J Consumer Group of Companies and J&J customers for assigned commodities and sourcing groups and the America's region which includes North America, South America and Canada. This individual will develop and implement robust SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) programs and will work to develop others to do the same. The Commodity Manager, Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America will lead and develop category-wide strategies and initiatives and contribute to the success of the Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America organization through upholding the spirit of the J&J Credo.

The Commodity Manager, Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America will own and manage commodity and sourcing groups in the Packaging area and will lead the development of global and regional sourcing strategies to deliver best Total Value for J&J. This individual will effectively choose tailored sourcing approaches and tools and negotiate and implement commercial/contract terms.

The Commodity Manager, Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America will ensure the creation and maintenance of pricing models and predictive models for feedstock and other key cost drivers for all key materials. They must be able to leverage these analyses in business planning, strategies and negotiations.

The Commodity Manager, Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America will analyze complex supplier proposals and use decision-making tools and models, including financial and non-financial criteria, to facilitate award recommendations. This individual will conduct comprehensive supplier analysis and screening (strategic direction, financial due diligence, market position, power within industry, capabilities & capacity, risk assessment) and develop strategies and attain goals for the growth of diverse supplier spend in accordance with J&J's goals to support diversity supplier initiatives. This individual will also negotiate commercial agreements and contracts catered to supply situations and ensure that they are aligned with a strategy to ensure business continuity through the agreements.

The Commodity Manager, Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America will develop and implement Supplier Relationship program(s) for key suppliers in their assigned commodity groups/sourcing groups. This individual will develop a portfolio of supply relationships that deliver on the following requirements: quality service, innovation, and cost. The Commodity Manager, Packaging will manage key supplier relationships to ensure attainment of supply chain goals, internal/regulatory compliance, supplier-enabled innovation goals, and other department objectives while abiding by the spirit of the J&J Credo.

The Commodity Manager, Packaging Strategic Sourcing North America will support the development of new products through early involvement with R&D/Engineering on alternative identification, supply agreement negotiations and with the identification of new, applicable technologies.

This individual may also manage, develop and train junior sourcing professionals (sourcing leads, sourcing analysts) with direct or indirect reporting relationship as needed.

Qualifications


The qualified candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 6 years of business experience OR a minimum of an MBA and 3 years of business experience. A focused degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a closely related field is preferred. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 3 years in strategic sourcing, purchasing, procurement, supply-chain, and/or operations is required.

A strong technical background gained through business experience in Operations/Supply Chain, R&D, or technical sales support is preferred. Experience analyzing supply industries, key cost drivers and market dynamics is preferred. Experience analyzing proposals, bid packages and conducting supplier analysis is preferred. Strong negotiation skills are required. The ability to lead cross-functional teams and the ability to influence without authority is required. Experience in executive stakeholder presentations/management and strong analytical skills are preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel is required. Experience with SAP or similar ERP system is preferred.

This position requires that the individual is able to work in Skillman, NJ and be able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
