The MOBS Business Service Consultant role provdes consulting leadership to large, medium, and small projects, thereby supporting KPNW in achieving its performance targets. Manages the consulting and analytical support for these projects and is accountable for the quality of the advice and analysis. Provides support to the completion of major business processes. Retrieve and report data related to the operation of departments in support of performance and quality measures, strategic initiatives, regulatory requirements, State mandates and other appropriate requests. Supports Manager/Director with a variety of business planning and process activities. Maintain and support a culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity and customer service. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance for assigned department. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards as they relate to assigned department.
Essential Functions:
- Planning and scoping: Develop overall engagement work plan, and ensure that assigned tasks and responsibilities are accomplished in a timely manner.
- Plan, organize and control multiple responsibilities and resources to achieve project objectives.
- Recognize and anticipate scope issues and communicate to client and team changes to the work plan.
- Manages projects with limited oversight, using standard project management methodologies.
- Establishes processes and creates effective project management tools to help guide project efforts and to achieve desired project outcomes.

- Planning, development, implementation and improvement of efficient business process with POS cash collections, registration and front office activities, in collaboration with the Medical Operations Business Services leadership team.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of project management, business consulting, or process improvement experience.
- Five (5) years of analytical experience in project management, business consulting, or process improvement.
- Experience in large scale quality improvement process or initiative.
- Four (4) years of analytical experience in project management, quality improvement processes, practical use of research analysis hypotheses and methods, data or statistical analysis, or cost/benefit analysis is preferred.
- One (1) or two (2) years of experience leading or managing people on projects preferred.
- Extensive experience with EPIC/Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect and related applications preferred.
- Experience in developing spreadsheet applications to apply analytical problems preferred.
- Experience in a successfully controlled cash environment preferred.
- Experience in management and business consulting preferred.
- Master's degree in healthcare, business, or a related area. Equivalent experience will be considered
- Six Sigma certification or a strong working knowledge of the Six Sigma model, with a commitment to obtain Certification preferred.
- Certification in Project Management preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2003
- Typing 25 wpm
- Demonstrated ability to supervise up to 25 team members on projects.
- Mange PMO budget, and /or manage moderately large projects.
- Use some judgment to review recommendations to organizational problems and determine course of action.
- Working knowledge of EPIC/Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect and related applications.
- Demonstrated effective communication both written and oral.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley Act.
- Proficient in use of personal computer spreadsheet software preferred.
- General knowledge of mainframe computer applications preferred.
- Possess effective communication preferred with staff at all levels of the organization as a consultant in conducting, presenting, and implementing strategic projects.
- Proven leadership skills in project management and consulting preferred, including the following attributes: efficient, collaborative, candid, open and results-oriented.
- Demonstrated process excellence skills (Six Sigma, Lean thinking, etc.) preferred.
- Strong proficiency in the use of current software, including spreadsheets, process mapping tools, project work plan tools, charts and graphs, and basic Microsoft applications preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of analytic techniques pertinent to planning, finance, management, engineering and medical economics preferred. This includes forecasting, sensitivity analysis, financial analysis such as NPV, decision analysis, cost-benefit/effectiveness and other economic analysis, and multivariate statistical analysis.
- Basic understanding of advanced analytic techniques such as dynamic modeling/simulation advanced operations research techniques preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
- Ability to design and delver formal training programs to staff and customers on advanced consulting and analytical tools and techniques preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to: Manage against multiple competing priorities of operations management customers and business process preferred.
- Establish clear performance contracts and project budgets preferred.
- Manage multiple large/strategic projects to achieve expected outcomes, on time, within budget preferred.

Salary Range:
$73,540 - $100,660
