Position Description: The Director of Diversity and Inclusion is responsible for company-wide strategic Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and program development. This person reports directly to the VP of Talent Management. The successful candidate must possess previous experience with developing and implementing Diversity and Inclusion programs and initiatives aligned with corporate goals, the ability to influence others and successful change management skills.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior or Business Administration.
- A minimum of 8 (eight) years of progressively responsible human resource experience with emphasis on developing and implementing Diversity and Inclusion programs.
Additional Requirements:
- Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Experience in O.D./Learning, Cultural Assessment Awareness and Cultural Transformation a plus.
- Broad knowledge of Human Resources trends and developments.
- Ability to manage a team to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Demonstrated success managing in a matrix organization.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills; including the ability to interact with all levels of the organization to include the Executive Leadership team and the Board of Directors.
- Proven track record of strong project/program management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in an atmosphere of ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement effective HR solutions.
- PHR/SPHR Certification is preferred.
- Travel required is 30%.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the VP of Talent Management to help plan, develop, direct, execute and evaluate of all Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) programs and initiatives to ensure that they are aligned with and integrated into the organization’s business goals and objectives.
- Partner with the Staffing/Recruiting Team to develop and implement cutting edge strategies and tactics to attract, retain and develop a highly diverse and high performance workforce.
- Ensure that D&I is fully integrated and aligned with Talent Management strategies to identify, select, access and develop diverse talent.
- Assess D&I Initiatives in relation to their design, implementation and communication to determine their effectiveness; measure their impact on employees and organization objectives, culture and values; maintain ongoing quality enhancement; conduct benchmarking analysis; and stay current on the latest research and trends associated with D&I.
- Support organizational and cultural change initiatives that include enterprise-wide assessments, D&I education, action planning and evaluation.
- Manage strong relationships with diversity related external organizations.

- Provide counsel on Enterprise-wide D&I issues and opportunities.

- Work with Executive leadership to develop solutions to close gaps across the organization.
- Support the Ryder’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and other affinity groups.
