Web Service Project Manager
The Data Services team of the Care Delivery BIO is seeking a highly experienced, motivated and goal-driven Project Manager to drive its web service development projects. The Project Manager must be well versed in managing multiple projects under tight timelines, project management methodology, and Web Service project management practices. Additionally, the Project Manager must have strong Project Management skills in an application development environment, and the ability to collaborate with customer project managers and oversee multiple data service projects in a cross-functional, matrix managed environment.
Essential Functions:
This role will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and managing to results multiple data integration web services projects. He/she will play a proactive role in aligning data service project delivery plans with consuming application project plans and influencing consuming application plans as needed. Responsible for ensuring that customer needs are satisfied through managing and coordinating specific informational technology deliverables; the overall program/project plan, budget, structure, schedule and staffing requirement. Assures that an integrated software and hardware solution is provided to meet customer's need. May include responsibility for release scheduling and planning support.
Follow organizational project management and release management processes, policies, and procedures
Track and manage all aspects of a given project, from requirements gathering through to implementation and deployment, working with
accountable business and technical delivery lead and managers
Communicate progress, issues, and status to senior management, teams, and stakeholders
Address rapid turnaround of customer projects and demonstrate leadership to the company and our customers through product and service
knowledge
Work with architects to analyze web service business requirements and develop system requirements and proposals
Manage project teams to ensure that the projects are implemented on schedule and within budget
Support collaboration with system developers to assist in identifying issues and proposing resources needed to bring the issues to resolution
Establish, maintain and promote good customer relationships
Plan necessary meetings, prepare agendas and minutes
Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
Motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for theirassigned work
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in project management.
- Experience in applications project management, planning, sizing, analysis and delivery
- Experience in process development and implementation
- Experience in executing simple but effective governance policies and processes that have tangible benefits
- Strong multi-project management skills, experienced in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing multiple significant-scale projects from definition through implementation, involving internal personnel and third-party contractors
- Considerable experience in the management of multiple project of various sizes
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications including advanced use of MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Word
- Comprehensive knowledge of different development life-cycle methodologies ranging from waterfall, RUP to Agile
- Demonstrated ability to influence and interact with diverse teams across the organization
- Customer driven, service minded and result oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels in an organization
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and produce quality deliverables (processes, plans, roadmaps, catalogs, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Should have managed project budget of up to $10 million.
- PMP Certification strongly preferred.
