IT Communications Manager, Outpatient Pharmacy Replacement Program
Position can be located in either Pasadena, CA or Downey, CA

Job Summary
The Outpatient Pharmacy Replacement Program (OPPR) is a multi-year initiative that aims to create a smooth transition from multiple KP pharmacy computer systems to a single, unified system. The IT communications manager, OPPR (manager) is responsible for developing communications strategies in support of OPPR, in partnership with IT Communications and IT's OPPR leadership team and other key members of the IT and Care Delivery organizations. The manager is then responsible for creating, writing, and managing production of deliverables in support of these strategies.

The manager will be responsible for identifying key stakeholders for the program, from the IT perspective, and recommending communications initiatives to enhance stakeholder awareness, convey progress and outcomes for OPPR, and build stakeholder confidence in the program. The manager is also responsible for upholding standards for how the Kaiser Permanente brand is represented in OPPR communications.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Strategize with IT Communications and Care Delivery IT leadership and staff to identify communication priorities, develop communication plans and creative briefs, research and analyze information and stakeholder audiences, write announcements and other communication materials, prepare presentations, and manage the overall communication program to fulfill the goals and objectives of the IT OPPR program.
- In coordination with business partners, create consistent and compelling positioning, messaging, and tactics for OPPR that are consistent with the Kaiser Permanente brand.
- Partner with KP and IT Communications teams on OPPR communications and assist in coordinating communications with other IT and Care Delivery programs and initiatives.
- Provide communications consulting, planning, and writing services for IT OPPR leadership on internal communications.
- Drive communications projects in a way that strengthens internal relationships, reflects KP's core values and desired behaviors, and reflects best practices of business communications.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations or related field and/or four years of additional work related experience.
- A minimum of7 years of experience in corporate communications environment, including intensive project communications support, event management, and content development.
- Experience in change leadership, crisis communications, and issues management.
- Demonstrated professional-level writing and editing skills for Web and traditional media.
- Superior collaboration skills for working in a complex, non-hierarchical organizational structure.
- Able to respond to emerging issues and crises.
- Recent experience in planning and implementing stakeholder engagement plans and internal communications campaigns for a large, complex organization.
- Must have strong communication and planning skills, be detail oriented, well organized, problem solving/analytical, self-directed, team focused, and results oriented individual.
- Demonstrated excellence in directly supporting senior executives in large organizations and influencing their approach to communications while nurturing the relationship.
- Excellent presentation and PowerPoint skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead others through influence and collaboration.
- Professionalism that is consistent with KP's core values and desired behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business, communications or other relevant field.
- Information technology or health care industry experience.
- Proven experience with organizational change, corporate reputation management, internal brand reinforcement, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience supporting an information security organization with communications services or other subject matter experience.
