Qualifications
The India Corn Breeding team is seeking a Technology Deployment Lead for leading our Native Trait and Marker Strategies, Pipeline Pathology Program, Double Haploid Program, QMS (Quality Management Systems), PI (Process Improvement) activities and implementation of new technologies for India.  The person will work closely with both the India breeders and our global support and enabling teams to develop strategies, coordinate activities and implement best practices to impact both the breeding programs and the commercial portfolio.  The person will serve as a member of the India Corn Breeding Leadership Team.
 
Key Business Accountabilities/Responsibilities (key goals and deliverables including business organizational and people).
Lead the Native Trait and Marker Strategies for India from discovery to deployment:
·         Collaborate with breeders to identify and prioritize QTL mapping projects and objectives.
·         Assist breeders to enable experimental planning for QTL and fine mapping projects.
·         Assist breeders in the deployment of native traits and markers.
·         Conduct QC for Phenotypic/Genotypic data and do association analysis.
·         Coordinate Fingerprinting and QA/QC of lines.
·         Play a key role in GWS implementation.
 
Lead the Pipeline Pathology Program:
·         Develop and implement a long term pathology strategy for India to deliver commercial products with the required disease profiles.
·         Screen and characterize the commercial and pre-commercial pipeline for relevant diseases as per the market requirements.
·         Support the native trait projects on any disease related work and screening.
·         Drive continues improvements of processes and leverage best practices and technologies available within our Global Pathology Team.
·         Provide leadership and support on international seed import and export.
 
Lead the Double Haploid Program:
·         Lead, coordinate and deliver double haploid to the India breeding programs as per the strategy.
·         Drive continues improvements of the process and leverage best practices and technologies available within our Global DH Optimization and Global DH Production Centers.
Lead the QMS (Quality Management Systems) and PI (Process Improvement) activities for India.
Act as a catalyst to deploy state of art new technologies in India.
Core Business/Functional Skills and Education (critical experiences, skills, education or capabilities)
·         Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Statistical Genetics, Molecular Breeding, or a related field; plus 1 to2 years of post-doctoral experience and/or industry-related experience will be an added advantage.
·         Experience in the application of quantitative genetics and applied statistics are desirable.
·         Experience in QTL mapping and gene fine mapping and GxE interaction are desirable.
·         An understanding of the concepts, tools, and methods used in bioinformatics analysis would be an asset.
·         Independent, self-motivated, and creative with strategic supervision and must be self-directed at a tactical and technical levels.
·         Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based and cross-functional teams.
·         Ability to lead and manage an effective team.
·         Required to travel locally and internationally as needed.
