The Trade Brewer provides actionable intrinsic knowledge to an array of internal and external customers within the beer category. This position interacts closely with consumers, retailers and wholesalers as a multi-faceted beer consultant delivering a high level of knowledge and experience to the entire beer category. Ultimately train our sales and marketing teams to become the best in the business and to lead them to execute actionable intrinsic knowledge to their customers. This role is considered the intrinsic knowledge beer teachers of the sales and marketing organization and understands how to incorporate this understanding of beer into sales results. The role is equally divided into four major areas of responsibility; sales, marketing, brewing and learning & development teams to help deliver the MillerCoors and Tenth and Blake portfolio of brands and their interaction with multiple occasions to the entire beer category. The candidate will be challenged to forge the path they want to travel on to an aligned destination of raising the appreciation and understanding of all things beer within the US beer business.
These responsibilities also should include the understanding that the Trade Brewer needs to have the excellent capability to educate and support our organization to become the best in the industry at educating about beer:
1. Content and Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the Beer Merchant culture within the entire MillerCoors/Tenth and Blake organization
2. Educating distributors in classroom settings and supporting and teaching our sales teams to execute as well
3. Executing intrinsic entertainment beer dinners and tasting sessions
4. Build and maintain solid relationships and knowledge sharing with associated industries to strengthen brand and sales outreach
5. Be the public face for the MillerCoors/Tenth and Blake beer culture and knowledge in key trade organizations
6. Monitor and ensure training of sales teams on the brand quality standards for entire portfolio in trade
7. Coordinate selling efforts with all teams to deliver a unique beer experience for key retailers and wholesalers (i.e. beer dinners and presentations)
8. Be the beer category expert on existing and future industry needs and requirements such as food pairing and emerging styles
9. Work with the chain teams in delivering content and sensory concepts to select retail customers
10. Develop ongoing working relationships with key industry chefs and influencers driving the beer industry attributes and culture
11. Homebrewing coach, new recipe formulation consultant
12. Regional beer expert to support all needs of Distributor Beer Merchant Manager within company and personal goal parameters
Beer Merchant Training & Cultural Development of MC/TBBC -
1. Own content creation and delivery to the Beer Merchant platform and the tools to support the DBMâs to execute with their customers
2. Coordinate the development of training content through Learning & Development -
3. Coach the C&I sales team on the proper use of beer and food pairing knowledge
4. Champion the Beer Merchant culture throughout the entire MillerCoors organization ensuring the entire team stays true to beer and the attributes of beer.
5. Work with the mainstream selling organization in developing training tools and programming that will improve their beer knowledge.
6. Utilize the interaction of beer with food and other categories in selling process
7. Understand beer consumers, consumption occasions and emerging trends that impact us
8. Train retailers and consumers on beer category, product development and sensory experience
Qualifications:
*Relevant 4 year degree preferred and/or extensive brewing certifications and degrees that directly relate to specificity of role
*Brewing experience and the ability to teach and coach the process to others in an entertaining manner
*Natural leader
*Strong communication skills- content development, verbal, lecture, teaching, coaching, leading others
*Strong acumen for presentation-teaching-coaching variety of audiences from amateurs to corporate executives
*Strong ability to correctly forge and edit content delivery on the go in live situations

Preferred Education:
Fermentation Science, Beer/Brewing, Marketing, Biology, Chemistry, Culinary Arts, Education- Must have very high competency for the entire beer category from malt to mouth.
