Description

Ethicon, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies is currently recruiting for a Shift C, Braid Utility located in Cornelia, GA.

The Shift C, Braid Utility will be responsible for set-up, operation, and monitoring of the following equipment and the associated testing, documentation, and procedural compliance. Preprocessing-Loading Rackwinding Machine and material; performing and verifying diameter and tension checks; creating and verifying tickets and labels; loading racks into ovens appropriately; charting and monitoring appropriately for accuracy and completeness. Operating Bulkspool Machines; creating labels and verifying yardage; and unloading ovens. Pliabilization-Insuring required loading of material and proper set up; sampling, testing, and system data entry. Hot Stretch Machine-Set up and operation per specification; verifying readings. Skein/Scour Operations-Transferring material from braider reels onto skeins; scour skeins of material. Perform Coating Operations-weighing, mixing, and calculating % solids of solution; set up coating equipment; testing solution and record data. Performing inspections, sampling, and labeling using electric devices to identify and remove defects, perform adjustments, and ensuring required quality.

The Shift C, Braid Utility will also be responsible for performing other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator. Follow current compliance regulations and standards that comply with all federal regulated programs. Adhere to FDA quality and worldwide quality systems. Ensure safe working conditions and practices within the department. Follow written specifications to manufacture product. Demonstrate ability to consistently meet required work performance targets (RE's). Must be able to complete all required data on the Device History Record and other related forms and follow Line Clearance Procedure. Demonstrate teamwork in identifying, evaluating and resolving problems within the department. Support Maintenance Excellence including 5-S and Operator Asset Care. Support LEAN and Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment preferred. Basic computer skills required. Basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentages and work with decimals and fractions, required. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to maintain production records is required. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to use the following: diameter gauge, hand-held diameter gauge, tensiometer, read scales, tachometer, pyrometer, ruler, calculator, copier, label making equipment and general knowledge of basic hand and power tools. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and various processes and coordinate with other departments to effectively perform job duties. The ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds unaided and stand and/or walk more than 70% of the time required. Must be able to work rotating 12 hour night shifts (C Shift) (7:00 pm - 7:00 am), which will include alternating weekends. . The ability to work occasional overtime and some holidays is required.
