Description

Ethicon, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Braid Processor D Shift, located in Cornelia, GA.

The Braid Processor - D Shift will be responsible for operating and maintaining braid processing equipment. Select location to set up braider lots for carrier type. Set up braiders in accordance to specifications requirements for material size and appropriate product. Verify pick gears for each braider and change springs and pick gears. Create all required labels to identify lots within the braider layout. Perform quality checks within entire assigned braider layout. Maintain tension settings and adjust if necessary. Stop and flag malfunctioning braiders running off-quality braid. Verify that proper humidity levels and maintained in braider room and verify on appropriate chart. Doff lots upon completion. Complete required data on the Device History Record and other related forms. Follow the Line Clearance Procedure. Maintain supply of bobbins on braider benches. Perform maintenance or minor repair on braiders to correct braid quality problems. Remove and identify raw material lots for size/product changeover. Properly remove waste yarn from bobbins and core spools and identify.

The Braid Processor will also be responsible for performing other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator. Use associated test equipment (i.e. Starett Gauge, Federal Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope). Package and prepare product for shipment. Follow current compliance regulations and standards that comply with all federal regulated programs. Adhere to FDA quality and worldwide quality systems. Ensure safe working conditions and practices within the department. Follow written specifications to manufacture product. Demonstrate ability to consistently meet required work performance targets (RE's). Demonstrate teamwork in identifying, evaluating and resolving problems within the department. Support Maintenance Excellence including 5-S and Operator Asset Care. Support LEAN and Six Sigma initiatives. Maintain certification for testing.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment preferred. Experience with textile/braid processing equipment preferred. Basic computer skills required. Knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE) preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong analytical problem solving skills. Quality control experience preferred. Basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentages and work with decimals and fractions, required. Must have the ability to use the following: scales, label making equipment, copier, calculator. The ability to maintain production records is required. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and various processes and coordinate with other departments to effectively perform job duties. The ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds unaided and stand and/or walk more than 95% of the time required. Must be able to work in a noisy environment and wear ear protection. Must be able to work rotating 12 hour night shifts (D Shift) (7:00 pm - 7:00 am), which will include alternating weekends. The ability to work occasional overtime and some holidays is required.
