General description:

This function will be responsible for support the developing and managing of all the clinical strategies and information behind the J&J Medical products and procedures from all the franchises in the each region.

The Medical Affairs Manager will participate in the design, development and/or implementation of clinical trials, sponsored by J&J or Investigator Initiated Studies. In this way, he should recommend prioritization and allocation of scientific investment.

This position will be active part of the Copy Review team and will responsible for the Congress development and J&J support, evaluating the compliance of the event and J&J participation. As well, will support Quality and Regulatory Affairs, this includes management of compassionate use of products.

The Medical Affairs Manager will responsible to establish relationship with Key Opinion Leaders, Medical Associations and Regulatory bodies (Government). In the same way, he should collaborate in JJMII curriculum design. This position requires also to continuously monitoring local and global and local healthcare trends.

This person must support the sales force training locally, developing clinical strategies and implementing it in each cluster according to the prioritization process for products and procedures for business purposes.

This function includes the clinical support in Health Economics and Market Access processes and projects where the target products and procedures are involved, the developing of clinical information that support HTA and reimbursement, as well as support other functional areas like RA and Quality.

This position will establish with the team an effective communication strategy for all the compliance policies of J&J and the Medical Affairs role in the company.

The Medical Affairs Manager must be ready to work either as a Business Partner - Latin America. Within this function this position must participate in the Regional Franchise Business Council supporting the regional franchise with Medical Affairs initiatives, develop good relationships with Originating Companies, be capable of find information in the Medical Affairs teams. Also to represent franchise interest among the Medical Affairs Regional Team with a communication function between Medical Affairs team, the regional franchise and the Originating Company.

Main responsibilities:

Scientific Topics:

· Support and coordinate the developing of clinical tools related with healthcare strategies.

· Provide clinical support to commercial and functional areas based on the best clinical knowledge and trends.

· Develop and support the access, health economics, RA and Quality.

· Support with clinical information the design and developing of methodologies to optimize messaging and favorable perception of products as required.

· Coordinate and support the designing and developing of clinical/medical plans and tools to support key products and procedures.

· Support the integration of clinical support to market access strategies and processes.

· Monitoring the HC environment to keep the company abreast of the best HC knowledge.

Shaping the Environment:

· Support the influence directly or in coordination with the local teams of key stakeholders on a Healthcare Compliance basis to shape the external environment and gain access of our key products.

· Support the development of healthcare sectors in agreement with local MD&D companies.

· Maintain strong working relationships with local key stakeholders, local top targeted accounts, local payers and providers leaders, medical and healthcare professional societies, patient associations, employer's leaders and government agencies.

Regional Alignment around the MA strategy:

· This position is responsible to support the alignment the whole region around those definitions, deliver the clinical tools to all the sub regions and support the customization at the local level.

Business partnership:
- Franchise Business Partnership working as a liaison between franchise LA, Originating Company and the MA team. Obtain valuable information from Global MA teams to share with franchises, as well as representing the Franchise and region at the originating company level. It also includes an active participation in Regional Franchise Business Councils
- Update franchise sales and marketing teams on healthcare environmental changes impact

Other activities:
- Support the use in a effective way the health care strategies.
- Participate in local projects out of the Medical scope to provide a clear sense of the direction consider MA perspectives.

· Support the regional project contracting with external consultants.

Internal Relationship:

Work with internal companies, departments and franchises is critical for obtaining results in this function:
- J&J MD&D: Regional Business Directors, Sub Regional Franchise Directors and Sub-regional product and sales managers, Regional Marketing and Product Manager.
- Other MA team members
- This position should also be able to work as a Franchise Business Partner LA that means to ensure the contact and communication between MA LA, with the regional franchise and with the originating company, assuring focus on particular strategies and giving the support needed

External Relationship:

External technical and scientific relations with following stakeholders are a critical success factor for this position:
- MOH
- Governmental agencies as Regulatory organizations, Health Technology Assessment agencies, etc
- Healthcare technical consultants and Health NGO organizations
- Health key opinion leaders
- Medical and Health Associations leaders
- Health payers high management personnel
- Healthcare providers (hospitals & clinics) management and clinical leaders

Cualificaciones

Qualifications:

· Professional degree: Physician with postgraduates studies in Clinical Research, Business Administration and preferable Master degree.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs area

· Travel %: 40%
