The Regional Finance Manager acts as the financial leader and advisor to the Regional Vice-President, Regional Director of Business Development and the senior regional team and is responsible for the following critical functions:

 


  1. Planning and forecasting the P/L for the Region, including volume, mix, and local marketing spending and local sales admin;  working with the Revenue Management Director to forecast localized annual price and mix plans with an understanding of how pricing strategies will impact the region profitability.
  2. Assisting the Sales region function in making resource allocation decisions that maximize long-term profit and ensure adequate return on investment.

3.    Reporting and analyzing P/L drivers and profit opportunities.


  1. Ensuring financial control of the Region, including policy adherence, accuracy of books and records, and the safeguarding of Company assets.

 

The Finance Manager supports the leadership team in creating a financial operating plan that decomposes into specific P&L accountability at the region/mu level, and enables margin and spending variance analysis to identify performance that is off plan, directing and facilitating actions to achieve or exceed the operating profit plan. The Finance Manager must ensure management unit strategy is formulated and deployed with accurate and insightful analysis.

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 
  Â· A seasoned business leader [8+ years] and driver to accomplish the objectives of this business unit.   An MBA or CPA is preferred, as is a senior level of Finance Management experience within a classic, blue chip organization.   The successful incumbent will have first hand experience in managing operating budgets and providing deep commercial insights to improve business profitability.

Skills and knowledge
· Strategic Insight :   A well developed strategic capability and proven experience in analyzing the marketplace, anticipating future alternatives and creating a strategic platform from which the business can address these.    Once the vision is defined, the executive must have the ability to act as a change agent by communicating a compelling and inspired message to rally support throughout the company.   He or she must have the proven ability of considering different NPV options across investment type and risk profile.
 
· Commercial Aptitude:    The executive must be a proven finance manager who understands the entirety of successful business operations and has managed a business accordingly. They must have provided sound and resourceful financial input to drive the success of the business unit, and be able to translate business performance metrics into EVA.
 
· Financial Discipline:    The executive must have a record of managing a P&L, delivering deep financial analytical insight to a business with a disciplined understanding of making real time decisions between volume and profit.   An accountant accomplished in the principles of    pricing, forecasting, US GAAP, and maximizing commercial benefits.  
 
· Leadership:     An organized thinker who can motivate, inspire and enlist individual and team support toward achieving a desired objective, while building disciplined financial and commercial capability.   Once the vision is defined, the executive must have the ability to act as a change agent by communicating a compelling and inspired message to rally support throughout the company.
 
· Results :    The executive will have a proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently take accountability and make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment .
 
· Action Oriented: Enjoys working hard and looks for challenges.   Able to act and react with speed even if limited information is available.   Not afraid to take charge of a situation when trouble comes; can overcome resistance and take unpopular stands when necessary.
