Role Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for the Suzhou Campus will lead the procurement group at Suzhou to contemporary best practices, Procurement & Supplier Management processes and delivery of results to meet & exceed the DePuy Franchise Sourcing & Suzhou Campus OGSM's. He/She will help develop and execute DePuy's procurement strategy and provide overall coordination, facilitation and enablement of programs that will drive best practice and that will leverage across DePuy, Suzhou & MD&D.

He/She will be a member of the WW MD&D Sourcing leadership team and will be expected to provide a practical and intellectual understanding of the global DePuy & MD&D industry as well as hands-on leadership in all aspects of Procurement operations, having overall responsibility for cost / quality / service / SEI / and Supplier Diversity for the Suzhou Campus sourcing group.

Major Responsibilities

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for Suzhou Campus will be responsible for aligning the procurement processes with the wider Depuy Source organization, the Make and Quality and Franchise Development organizations and be responsible for delivering the procurement metrics for the Suzhou Campus.

Responsibilities will include:
- Partner with the Procurement Category & NPI and Supplier Quality functions to ensure alignment to meet and exceed goals - Quality, Risk, Service, and Cost.
- Develop and implement strong business systems to establish proactive issue communication to the Make function & the Franchises, manage supplier partnerships & contribute positively to the efficiency of Supply Chain

- Provide input to the WW Procurement strategic direction and coordinate the group to ensure alignment to that strategic direction
- Partner with Supplier quality to ensure alignment on supplier management processes
- Prepare annual business plans budget and deliver YOY productivity savings and any other reporting requirements for the group
- Develop and Manage a technically based, competent sourcing organization
- Develop an organization & lead a robust team to ensure future enterprise success, by establishing action plans to enable professional growth and development for each associate.
- Upgrade supplier skills and manage supplier capabilities including but not limited to capacity planning, tooling and resource investments including inventory management.
- Conduct industry research and market surveys in order to stay current with best in class strategic sourcing practices and customer demands.
- Execute strategic direction in sourcing to ensure optimal mix of cost and cycle time, while continually guaranteeing required levels of quality, ensuring appropriate support and the achievement of source-related goals/milestones for New Product Introduction projects.
- Other responsibilities include: make vs. buy decision making, supplier skills upgrading (ship to stock, emerging technologies, etc.)

- Lead the team to a best in class performance, execute the MD&D Procurement Strategy and align with the wider Procurement and Supplier Quality groups to achieve and exceed goals - Quality, Risk, Service & Cost.
- Maintain a high level of proactive service and supply continuity for the Suzhou Campus and DePuy-Synthes WW Business.

Qualifications


Experience and Key Competencies
- Profficient spoken and written English language skills
- Minimum of 4 - 5 years relevant experience in a logistics/supply chain role within a high volume manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to influence/collaborate required
- Proven track record of successful Supplier Relationship Management
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills required
- Expertise in Operations, Logistics, Planning, and Forecasting required
- Financial management & budget development and control

- Analytical-absorb information & solve complex problems quickly
- Management leadership: setting direction, influencing, goal alignment, lead & influence others in a matrix organization
- Management & leadership of a diverse workforce
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Education
- BS Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
- MBA or Masters preferred.
- CPSM certification (formerly CPM) (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and a Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred
