Plans, designs, implements, & manages the RN, LVN, & MA roles & standards of practices for ambulatory services. Ensures staff meets established state/local legislation & regulation requirements. Manages the operations of the outpatient services.
Essential Functions:
- Guides & defines nursing practice, sets limits, identifies & interprets the scope of practice for RNs, LVNs, & MAs.
- Provides interpretation & advises changes to the Nursing Practice Act, LVN Act, & MAs Regulations to Administration, physicians, & nursing managers.
- Establishes guidelines as nursing roles evolve to meet the changing health care needs of the patient.
- Ensures staff meets the established performance standards as set by Kaiser Permanente & the Nursing Practice Act.Reviews & approves all policies, procedures, protocols, & standardized procedures for content, appropriateness, consistency, & compliance w/ state/local legislation & regulations.
- Ensures the ongoing quality improvement program which examines consistent nursing practice, validating outcomes by research & data collection.
- Evaluates the current practice, initiates new nursing roles & assists in establishing training programs to support the expanded roles.
- Represents the TPMG Ambulatory Nursing perspective at all levels of the organization, sharing best practices & resources.
- Manages the operations of the ambulatory nursing & support staff, which may include budgetary responsibilities.

Secondary Functions:
- This position will interface with SPOC and be a liaison for the facilities and regions utilizing KPPAS as well as a management liaison role to CNA.
-Assist in overseeing various CNA/management committees.
- Oversee, monitor and prepare for any acreditations involvinjg nursing including URAC or NCQA
-Oversee and organize RN conferences
- Assist in the consistency and communication to RNs regarading Responsible Reporting process
-Link AACC to NCAL nursing key messages regarding professional culture/behaviors/expectations.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Significant supervisory/management experience (usually 5 years).
- Previous nursing administration experience required (usually 3 years).
- Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field required.
- Masters degree or equivalent years of experience in nursing or other related field.
- Current California RN license required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Nurse Practice Act.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
