The Benefits and Products sub-portfolio within the HP BIO of KP-IT is seeking an exceptional Solution Consultant, Consultant Specialist with a comprehensive, business and technical understanding of Health Plan. (e.g., Benefits, Memberships) that will work with the business and KP's Benefits Strategy program to develop strategic and tactical solutions. This individual will report to the Solution Management Principal and have matrixed relationships with other Project Managers

Essential Functions:
-
Consults with business partners (i.e., Health Plan) and project teams to define and document business requirements.
Develops solution alternatives, high-level designs, functional specifications and estimates that address KP's overall corporate and business strategies. (Emphasis on Benefits systems and applications).
Leads the ideation, concept and definition of projects, and remains involved thereafter to ensure alignment with designed and accepted solutions through development, testing, implementation and support.
Functions as project lead for the coordination of solution development including the development of high-level requirements documents, solution alternatives, logical designs, physical designs and other associated tasks.
Acts as a liaison between the business and technical staff, including development staff and other KPIT entities such as Enterprise Operations and Enterprise Engineering.
Develops and sustains strong relationships with business partners and other KPIT entities to ensure effective partnerships and alignment with business and KPIT strategies.
Provides integrated systems planning and leads the review and design concepts for new contact center systems and applications
Ensures the development of plans for integration of new systems architecture into current infrastructure.
Provides technical direction and support for projects.
Evaluates existing applications that could address client requirements and makes recommendations.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
-
A Bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
10 years of progressive IT experience, with demonstrated success in software development, design and implementation of software applications - preferably in health plans or managed care organizations.
5 years of experience in a senior solutions design role using software development life cycle methodologies including: Eliciting and documenting business and systems requirements from business partners and applying structured software life cycle & development methodologies.
7 years experience in the development, design and analysis of applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

A broad understanding of all technologies.
Strong written, oral communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer relationship management and customer service skills.
Strong collaboration, documentation and presentation skills.
Positive attitude and the ability to work and communicate with all levels of management, clients, other IT staff, vendors, external partners, System Integrators etc.
Demonstrated service orientation to monitor others' work to ensure quality and alignment in meeting customer's needs.
Ability to maintain standards, prioritize project work to meet customer's needs.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Experience in the Healthcare industry/domain, preferably with Benefits, Membership and Claims Systems
Preferred knowledge of Kaiser's business across all infrastructure areas
Familiarity with applications used by Kaiser's Health Plan beneficial.
