Serves as principal investigator on major projects for the Division of Research (DOR). Directs lower level investigators, statisticians and programmer/analysts.
Essential Functions:
- Designs, develops, and directs research for an ongoing program of research which includes major projects.
- Prepares grant proposals, internal reports and publications, independently and collaboratively.
- Presents papers at national scientific meetings; teaches and/or reviews papers for national journals.
- Evaluates and consults on research proposals of others.
- Mentors/supervises junior level research scientists and technical staff.
- Provides consultation and data interpretation to TPMG, KFH/P managers and committees.
- Provides service to the scientific community through membership on peer review groups and national boards.
- Consults with local, state and national voluntary and governmental agencies.
- May serve as member of state/national study review panels.
- Serves on Division of Research committees.
Secondary Functions:
- Participation in Chronic Pain workgroup and develop and maintain strong productive relationships with clinical leaders in chronic pain management.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Substantial professional experience ( 7+ years) in conducting original research and publishing peer-reviewed results (analogous to academic series - Associate Professor).
- Prior experience as principal investigator on at least one major project.
- Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or related field, or equivalent training and mastery.
- Competent in advanced research techniques, and study designs commonly used in epidemiological and health services research.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD or MD with proven expertise in chronic pain research, including but not limited to external federal funding awards and or state, association, foundation funding in chronic pain research..
- Scientific peer reviewed publications in chronic pain and/or chronic pain presentations at national and/or international scientific conferences.
