Job description
This individual will assist in the growth and development, and management of the Cognos Business Intelligence (BI) practice within the Business Analytics & Optimization (BAO) Financial Services (FSS) sector, and maintain deal focused relationships with clients and partners to scope, propose, close, and deliver BAO projects. This role will participate in pre-sales activities, assessments, sales and sales closing activities, and the staffing for delivery of the solution. Primary focus will be on sales activities for Cognos opportunities in the FSS sector.
Will coordinate cross practice cooperation and interlock with software group, and coordinate activities and success of other sales focused resources in the practice. Will assist with identification of delivery resource needs and as needed participate in the recruitment process.
As needed this role is responsible for successful delivery of BAO Financial Services Cognos BI solutions and services in a client consulting environment, and is an experienced consultant in the areas of BAO technology, Business Intelligence/DW implementations, and/or Performance Management implementations. Typical tasks include defining the key business problems & translating them into process/technical solutions, as well as managing client relationships.
Other responsibilities include: business case development, project and program management, business development, proposal writing and management, track record of sales within Cognos BI solutions and delivery focus in recent 5 years, large complex consulting client management experience at VP level, hands-on development deliverables defined by formal structured methodology.

Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 5 years experience in the knowledge of Cognos 8 Business Intelligence and/or Cognos performance management
- At least 5 years experience in hands-on technology and leadership in Data Warehouse or Performance Management projects
- At least 5 years experience in hands-on developed project deliverables using formal/structured methodology
- At least 5 years experience in the proven ability to sell Cognos and BIPM solutions within the Financial Services industry
- At least 6 months experience in Cognos 10 Business Intelligence and/or Cognos performance management
- Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- English: Fluent
Preferred
- Master's Degree
- At least 7 years experience in the knowledge of Cognos 8 Business Intelligence and/or Cognos performance management
- At least 7 years experience in hands-on technology and leadership in Data Warehouse or Performance Management projects
