Job description

Working in IBM's Strategy & Transformation Practice, the Technology Strategy & Transformation Associate Partner contributes to and supports the delivery and sales of Technology Strategy solutions to IBM Clients within the Industrial Sector. This position will focus primarily on the Oil & Gas and EPC industries.

A successful candidate will have strong business acumen and possess a blend of general Business and Technology Strategy competencies. Specifically, the Associate Partner will have a versatile background in the following areas: IT Strategy and Transformation, IT Governance & Effectiveness, Application Portfolio Rationalization, and other key offerings. In addition, the Technology Strategy Associate Partner will assist practice leadership in developing proposals that align to our client's strategic and long-term objectives. They should also be able to comfortably communicate (both verbal and written) with Senior Business and Technology leadership

Relevant industry depth/experience in our Industrial Sector client industries is required: Industrial Products, Chemicals & Petroleum, Electronics, Automotive, and/or Aerospace and Defense. Qualified candidates will have a deep understanding of Application Portfolios/IT Strategy (incl. people, process, technology) in the Oil & Gas and EPC industries

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 5 years experience in Technology Strategy project delivery in the Oil and Gas and EPC industries
  • At least 5 years experience in developing IT Strategy, Application Portfolio Analysis, and ERP selection projects for the Oil and Gas and EPC industries
  • At least 5 years experience in leading and managing projects that deliver complex IT Strategy and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with senior client executives
  • At least 5 years experience in understanding key technology trends and their impact on the client's business with specific focus on the Oil and Gas and EPC industries
  • At least 3 years experience in consulting in one or more of the following industries: Industrial Products, Chemicals and Petroleum, Electronics, Automotive, and/or Aerospace and Defense
  • At least 5 years experience in assisting or leading consulting sales activities related to Technology Strategy and IT Performance Management engagements to CXO level clients
  • At least 5 years experience in Technology Strategy, using methodologies and frameworks, via a consulting firm or professional services organization
  • At least 5 years experience in IT Strategy and Transformation an/or IT Governance and Effectiveness and/or Application Portfolio Rationalization and other key offerings
  • Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • English: Basic knowledge


Preferred
  • Master's Degree
  • At least 10 years experience in Technology Strategy project delivery in the Oil and Gas and EPC industries
  • At least 7 years experience in developing IT Strategy, Application Portfolio Analysis, and ERP selection projects for the Oil and Gas and EPC industries
  • At least 10 years experience in leading and managing projects that deliver complex IT Strategy and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with senior client executives
  • At least 10 years experience in understanding key technology trends and their impact on the client's business with specific focus on the Oil and Gas and EPC industries
  • At least 5 years experience in consulting in one or more of the following industries: Industrial Products, Chemicals and Petroleum, Electronics, Automotive, and/or Aerospace and Defense
