When you join IBM, you'll partner with our clients and unharness all of these capabilities to deliver real business value.

This position is an internal consulting role. As the IBM facing practice of GBS Strategy & Transformation (S&T), the Internal Consulting Practice (SCIP) has the unique mission of driving value and the competitive advantage for one of the largest and most dynamic companies in the world. Just as GBS S&T Consultants work as trusted business advisors of the CEO and other Senior Executives at the world's top companies, SCIP Consultants work to apply our best strategic thinking to IBM itself.

The SCIP team includes professionals located primarily in the US Northeast Region, with additional practitioners in Washington, Atlanta and Chicago. SCIP consolidates the experiences of heritage IBM, PWC and other professionals from a variety of backgrounds to provide strategy, operational and organizational change consulting services within IBM. Though based in the US, the team has supported projects around the world. While its primary focus is driving business transformation at IBM, Senior SCIP Practitioners also engage/consult with commercial clients based on the learnings from IBM Transformations.

The SCIP team is currently seeking Managing and/or Senior Managing Consultants to apply their Workforce Transformation skills on a wide array of strategy engagements. In this position, you will have the opportunity to solve the most complex business issues on unprecedented scales, resulting in lasting improvements. As a SCIP Consultant, some daily activities may include:

  • Development of Change Management Strategy, including Organization Design, Stakeholder Adoption, and Communications
  • Business case development
  • Process mapping, gap assessments, and process re-engineering
  • Target Operating Model Design and management systems
  • Talent Management Strategy and Assessment, including job roles and responsibilities, skills and behavior, and incentives
  • Client relationship development
  • Presentation and work product/deliverable development
  • Identification of business improvements through:
    - Process flow documentation and gap assessment
    - Best practices identification and market research
    - Benchmarking and workforce analytics
    - Administration of engagement activities in support of a work product
    - The application of IBM's internationally award-winning consulting methodologies, key technologies and engagement support tools

This position may require up to 25% travel to the NYC and/or Armonk offices.

It is also expected that new hires live within a reasonable commuting distance (generally 50 mi or less) of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Hartford, CT; Houston, TX; New York City, NY and surrounding areas; Philadelphia, PA; and Washington, DC.
