The Websphere Commerce IT Architect is responsible for translating the client's business requirements into specific e-commerce system, application or process designs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. Typically, this work is done at various client sites in a billable capacity.
The WebSphere eCommerce Infrastructure Architect supports installation, upgrades, maintenance, administration and security of WebSphere, WebSphere Commerce, AIX, and pSeries hardware. The candidate will implement processes for effective management of user privileges, create custom monitoring scripts, coordinate projects and distribute work to a resource pool, and provide technical leadership on infrastructure to the project team and client. Successful candidates will have demonstrated past experience in analyzing complex technical situations, anticipating potential problems and future trends, and assessing opportunities and risks while developing and implementing plans and creating solution deliverables for client contracts. As a leader of the team, the WebSphere Commerce IT Architect guides other professionals and assumes overall technical responsibility for the successful design, solution construction, implementation and system integration of e-commerce billable projects. At the senior level, the position requires significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures.
This position requires 75% travel.

Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 1 year experience in Architect/Solution designing, developing and delivering custom application development solutions for clients
- At least 1 year experience in IBM WebSphere Commerce and object oriented technologies
- At least 1 year experience in Establishing and managing development standards
- At least 1 year experience in working with a software development methodology
- Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- English: Intermediate
Preferred
- Master's Degree
- At least 3 years experience in Architect/Solution designing, developing and delivering custom application development solutions for clients
- At least 3 years experience in IBM WebSphere Commerce and object oriented technologies
