Specifically, the Associate Partner (AP), as a member of the Banking Strategy & Transformation team, will lead and/or support teams implementing business, process or technology change in our Banking client organizations in both competitive sales proposal situations and on client engagements. This role involves gathering facts, analyzing the client's business (competitors, markets, customers, value propositions, operational models, etc), drawing conclusions, and reporting upon that work, as well as re-engineering business processes, streamlining operations and/or facilitating the evaluation, selection and implementation of supporting systems.
The AP will work pro-actively with clients to refine their current business strategy or develop a new strategy in line with competitive and market forces and/or identify strategic capabilities needed to create and sustain one or more sources of competitive advantage. The AP is expected to have the proven experience and knowledge needed to ensure the successful sale and delivery of consulting services to our Banking clients, leading to high client satisfaction. This person will use consulting skills, business knowledge, processes, measurements & tools to analyze issues and drive solutions that transform a clientâ??s business. The AP contributes to intellectual capital, methodology development and staff development. The AP is also expected to establish trusted long-term relationships with senior level clients through engagement activities.
Qualified candidates will have Banking Industry experience, an ability to articulate Financial Services Industry trends and issues, as well as consulting experience.
The AP will:
- Mentor and manage teams of people within IBM, including building and leading internal communities of IBM industry practitioners;
- Provide client and IBM team leadership in support of projects that span requirements, design, development, and deployment, as well as in support of sales efforts for new and future work;
- Support the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts in support of an identified sales target;
- Provide banking operations subject matter expert guidance, strategies, and best practices;
- Build and lead internal communities of IBM industry practitioners;
- Lead or contribute to the creation of IBM positions on specific banking operations topics;
- Define, develop and use repeatable consulting industry solutions;
- Transfer knowledge to local IBM teams through training and side-by-side engagement work
It is also expected that newly hired resources into GBS live within a reasonable commuting distance (generally 50 miles) of the following cities: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, NYC metro area; Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington, DC.
Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 5 years experience in the Banking Industry
- At least 5 years experience in a role with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- At least 5 years experience in delivering complex banking projects and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with Senior Executives
- At least 5 years experience in a role with demonstrated analytical skills with proficiency in banking operations tools, methods, and frameworks
- At least 5 years experience in effectively speaking and writing at an executive level
- At least 4 years experience in developing executive level relationships, with prior experience in the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts
- Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- English: Fluent
Preferred
- Master's Degree
- At least 10 years experience in the Banking Industry
- At least 10 years experience in a role with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- At least 10 years experience in delivering complex banking projects and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with Senior Executives
- At least 10 years experience in a role with demonstrated analytical skills with proficiency in banking operations tools, methods, and frameworks
- At least 10 years experience in effectively speaking and writing at an executive level
- At least 5 years experience in contributing to thought leadership in banking operations methodology, facilitation techniques, and leading practices
- At least 5 years experience in writing proposals, estimating work and interacting with middle and upper-level banking management
- At least 8 years experience in professional services consulting at a national or global management consulting firm
- At least 8 years experience in developing executive level relationships, with prior experience in the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts
