Johnson & Johnson Consumer Group of Companies develops and markets consumer healthcare, baby care, and beauty/skin care products that address the needs of consumers and health care professionals and incorporate the latest innovations. The Sr. Director, Behavior Modification Leader will be expected to set the strategic direction for the J&J Consumer Behavioral Science initiatives, with a key responsibility being to identify opportunities within J&J Consumer as well as the overall J&J enterprise where the application of behavioral science can dramatically create new value for J&J. This role will be expected to lead the overall direction of the development of new behavior change platforms. The Sr Director will be responsible to build a significant external network of academic and industrial partners who will be partners in the fulfillment of the overall initiative.

The Sr. Director, Behavior Modification Leader will be responsible to connect and partner with the external environment and be recognized as a key thought leader in the area of behavioral science as well as population health management. In conjunction with their team, the Sr Director will help to shape the external environment in this area, ensuring that J&J is seen as the ideal partner for new innovations.

In addition the Sr Director will lead a team and be accountable to develop and attract strong talent into this group, as well as create an exciting, high performing culture of innovation within the organization.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Ph.D degree in an appropriate discipline such as; Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Behavioral Sciences or related disciplines is required. An MD in Psychiatry or related field and/or Behavioral Practice experience is highly preferred. At minimum of 15 years of experience as a practicing clinician or direct work experience in the area of Population Health management in the development of Behavior Change solutions or in clinical research is required. The successful candidate must possess a broad background in multiple lifestyle conditions, such as; stress, smoking cessation, obesity, etc., and/or chronic conditions, such as; pain, diabetes, or cancer. Prior people management or team leadership experience is required.

Must possess the ability to develop the big picture, and translate it to something actionable that delivers value to the organization. The successful candidates will have a demonstrated competency for intellectual curiosity and the ability to evaluate different angles to a specific problem, vs. taking a single minded approach. Must have prior experience with empowering staff or work teams, allowing for faster decision making and greater engagement. Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment where resources are shared and team work and collaboration is critical. This position can be based in Skillman, NJ or Fort Washington, PA but weekly travel to Skillman site will be required. Up to 20% domestic and international travel is required.
