The Johnson & Johnson Law Department is recruiting for a Trademark Paralegal located at Johnson & Johnson World Headquarters in New Brunswick, NJ.

The Trademark Paralegal will assist in the management of U.S. and foreign trademark portfolios which will include clearance, prosecution, maintenance, enforcement, and conflicts. Conduct preliminary trademark screens and analyze results; review full trademark searches and analyze results. Correspond with internal business clients on various trademark issues. Correspond with and oversee outside counsel regarding foreign and domestic trademark portfolio management. Review packaging, websites, and advertising copy. Review Official Gazettes and watch notices for policing and enforcement of company's trademarks. Maintain and manage trademark files, records, dockets, and deadlines. Assist attorneys with gathering documents and evidence in support of trademark oppositions, cancellations, or other legal actions. Provide support and due diligence in connection with company's transactional matters. Conduct investigations of trademark usage through Internet, SAEGIS and other online trademark databases.

Qualifications


A minimum of an Associate's degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent-type education or experience is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of trademark experience is required. Trademark experience in the medical device field is preferred. Experience and proficiency in using SAEGIS, intellectual property databases, docketing systems and electronic USPTO filings are required. Strong organizational and planning skills are required in addition to excellent writing and telephone skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel) is required. The ability to handle numerous tasks and projects with time deadlines is required. On line research skills are required. The successful candidate needs to be extremely motivated, energetic, able to work well independently and with others.
