DePuy Orthopaedics is the Joint Reconstruction business offering orthopaedic devices, solutions and supplies for hip, knee and extremity reconstruction, in addition to cement and operating room products.

The Manufacturing Engineer II will play a key role in developing and implementing processes for the manufacture of machined and highly polished products. The successful candidate will participate on cross-functional teams concentrating on the improvement of existing products and processes along with the launch of new products. This will include working with the Lean and Product Development, CIP teams and the Quality group for the successful qualification of the product and process for improved manufacturability. The candidate will work with other manufacturing, process and quality engineers to develop new technology and processes ensuring compliance with approved methods and quality standards.

The successful candidate will provide manufacturing engineering support to the Polish Production Cell, ensures compliance with all FDA, ISO, quality, safety and environmental regulations and initiatives and lead or assist with projects to in-load or transfer products. Including review of designs for manufacturability, define tooling requirements and developing manufacturing process with project team members. The candidate is responsible for coordinating development and validation activities for manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer II will also initiate and lead process and product improvement programs for cycle time, cost reduction, safety and quality improvement. Quality and process improvements will be driven by effectively utilizing Process Excellence tools to improve operations in the Polish cell. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing specifications, bills, routes and travelers in support of new and existing products. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues, develop and implement detailed project plans, develop and institute cost improvement programs and be able to apply engineering and quality principles in support of manufacturing. The candidate will also possess the ability to read, interpret, and utilize engineering drawings and electronic data for product and process development.

Qualifications


A minimum of a B.S. in Engineering required and Mechanical Engineering preferred. A minimum of three years experience in manufacturing or engineering required. CNC machining experience and a UG cad- cam background preferred. Candidates with metal polishing experience are a plus. Knowledge of process validations, process mapping and CMM programming are preferred assets. GD&T and process excellence preferred. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to perform effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in MS Office is required. A medical device and regulated work environment background preferred. The position is located in Raynham, MA and it is required for the candidate to possess the ability to travel up to 10%.
