Position Description: In this role, the individual will negotiate, authorize and audit work to be completed on all Ryder vehicles in a customer focused and cost effective manner. As well as contribute to cost containment and improvement in execution of maintenance operations.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
  • Strong computer skills to include Excel and Word software packages required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a shop or maintenance related operation
  • Additional Requirements: > Responsible for 2nd level of billing for transactional maintenance customers
    > Certification in mechanical repair, preferred
    > Heavy duty vehicle maintenance experience preferred
    > Acute attention to detail
    > Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    > Strong organizational, prioritizing, and multitasking skills
    > Strong interpersonal skills specifically ability to negotiate and persuade internal and external stake holders
    > Proven ability to work under stressful situations.

    Responsibilities: The role of the MMC Technical Coordinator is to negotiate, authorize and audit work to be completed by outside repair vendors on all Ryder vehicles in a customer focused and cost effective manner. Primary functions of the position are:

    A. Repair Analysis

  • Assess Pre – PO to determine if repair should be outsourced
  • Authorize repairs and communicate expectation of vendor
  • Identify and address vendor rework issues

    B. Costing
  • Negotiate repair cost and labor materials

    C. Warranty and Core Management
  • Establishing and claiming warranty
  • Manage Core returns and credits

    D. Audit
  • Audit vendor invoices to ensure contractual compliance, SRT compliance and review for erroneous charges
  • Negotiate and document discrepancies
