The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for an Educator position for the Allied Health Department to begin August 15, 2013 to teach Emergency Medical Service courses. This position is not eligible for tenure. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 6100 students. An Educator’s main responsibilities include teaching/evaluating students in the clinical, laboratory, and/or classroom settings. Other specific responsibilities associated with this position include performing administrative functions for paramedic clinical and Emergency Responder programs, supervising a team of adjunct instructors used in the EMS programs, and coordinating yearly paramedic refresher programs. Additional responsibilities will include department service and professional development activities. Online teaching experience is a plus. This position requires proficiency in English, excellent communication skills and a commitment to excellence in teaching.

Job Description: On a full-time basis Educator Faculty Member's primary responsibilities involve regular classroom instruction and responsibilities in the pedagogical mission of their college of unit. Educator series faculty may also contribute to the development, administration, and operation of instructional programs, to the scholarship of teaching and learning or of their academic discipline, and to the service missions of the university. Expectations may be described in their letters of appointment and their unit reappointment and promotion criteria.

Minimum Qualifications: Academic degree in an appropriate discipline and related experience.

Position Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field, Paramedic and /or RN certification; ACLS and PALS provider required; three to five years of clinical experience in an EMS and/or hospital ED setting; three to five years of documented successful teaching experience; proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint.

The Ideal Candidate will be an RN with a Masters Degree, ACLS and PALS instructor and Ohio or National EMS Instructor license/certification.
