This senior data management position will report to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence for the Mid-Atlantic States Region of Kaiser Permanente and will provide complete Data Warehouse ETL and Technical Architecture design solutions using Informatica, AbIntio and Oracle technology. The incumbent will lead and mentor the ETL developers in designing, developing, and delivering large scale multi-terabyte Data Warehousing solutions and will work closely with DBAs, QA, and other Kaiser Permanente IT groups. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership and communication abilities in addition to the required technical skills for this challenging position.
The Mid-Atlantic States Business Intelligence Team is part of the Kaiser Permanente IT Group and provides reporting, analytics and information management solutions for the health plan and care delivery knowledge workers of Kaiser Permanente in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Essential Functions:
- Designing and building Data Warehouse and Data Marts.
- Understanding Legacy data and mapping data into Data Warehouse and Data Marts.
- Partnering with business analysts to understand project requirement and determine what and how to build and organize tables to fulfill the business requirements.
- Communicating with business partners, project managers, business analysts and ETL developers.
- Leading the design and implementation of ETL processes using Informatica, AbInitio and Oracle 11g.
- Preparing development specifications for developers to execute.
- Resolving technical issues in building the Data Warehouse.
- Tuning performance of large scale databases
- Establishing and implementing ETL best practices and guidelines for performance and data quality.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 5years experience with SQL, Oracle database, Oracle PL/SQL, UNIX and Shell Scripting.
- 5 years experience in data warehousing/business intelligence development and architecture (full life cycle)
- 5yearsexperience deploying and supporting large, complex data warehouse/business intelligence solutions (full life cycle)
- 4 years experience designing relational (conceptual, logical, physical) and dimensional data models for data warehouse/business intelligence
- BS degree (Computer Science concentration preferred) or equivalent experience required
- Performing Quality Assurance, unit and system testing as well as complete documentation of deliverables.
- Experience with data cleansing and data quality processes.
- Ability to analyze and design methodologies for full system development life cycles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years dedicated ETL development using Informatica or Ab Initio.
-Experience in reporting tools (Business Objects, Cognos).
- Experience in Health Care Industry.
- Experience in database management.
- Experience in system architectures.
