The Marketing Strategic Consultant provides strategic marketing communications direction and implementation support for complex marketing communications initiatives that support Sales and Account Management in selling, renewing and growing business across B2B channels. Marketing Strategic Consultants are responsible for the following: synthesize data and marketplace information to determine the appropriate marketing strategy and experience for each initiative; position the project and communicate the approach via written plan; identify required marketing resources; ensure the seamless integration and execution of marketing deliverables across all marketing channels (i.e. web, collateral, RFPs).
Essential Functions
- Works closely with Marketing Manager to accomplish the following:
- Monitor and synthesize industry trends, and competitive landscape through internal and external research for the purpose of developing marketing communications (marcom) messaging.
- Liaise with Marketing team colleagues and Sales and Account Management (SAM) to understand channel and line of business (LOB) conversation opportunities and challenges.
- Draw from the above to drive projects producing marketing communications strategies and messages to aid SAM in the sale, retention and growth of accounts.
- Write strong marcom plans, creative briefs and work with Editorial and Design colleagues to produce external materials, as well as multiple other departments to develop necessary internal communications for field staff. Please be prepared to show examples.
- Support channel and LOB needs by developing content promoting KPs core offerings. This includes interfacing across departments and regions to identify existing assets and gaps.
- Develop plans to gain internal approval and support from leadership to prioritize and advance work.
- Research and process complex, often undefined and incongruous needs and ideas into concise and actionable recommendations. It is critical that the candidate feel comfortable operating with ambiguity, and enjoy making sense of it for others.
- This position is required to manage their own projects, including performing some administrative processes to accomplish broader initiatives.
- This position has no direct reports at present, though has potential to manage a small team. Experience managing is desirable.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
- 4 to 8 years of progressive experience developing marketing messages.
- Strong work ethic. Self starter, able to generate, prioritize and drive work to meet business deadlines.
- Experience developing complex communications projects for a range of marketing segments or industries.
- Must be familiar with online marketing channels. Understanding of social media preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to interface with senior leadership with some degree of independence.
- Creative problem-solving skills. Must be able to positively interact and navigate a variety of departments and individuals across the organization to mutual success, despite competing priorities.
- Health care industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing others directly or indirectly preferred.
