Kaiser Permanente is seeking candidates for a Sr. IT Project Manager supporting the K. P. Quality organization. In this highly visible role the project manager will oversee a diverse portfolio or projects. She or he will plan and coordinate the day-to-day execution and delivery of medium to large sized quality, safety, risk management, and health analytics projects.
The ideal candidate will be a PMP certified, self-motivated, detail-oriented collaborative professional who knows how to independently deliver results in a matrixed and virtual work environment. He or she will be a customer focused creative problem solver whose professional background includes health care information systems and/or informatics. They will be highly detail oriented with a strong ability to manage and track multiple projects in a highly complex organization.
Essential Functions:
Scope
Manages moderately complex projects or multiple simple projects across multiple sites for a budget up to $5 million.
Develops and executes user adoption, implementation and training plans using Kaiser standard delivery methodology.
Understands and applies knowledge of change management process on projects
Responsible for accurate time reporting for project work they are leading
Manages the tracking of interdependencies within their scope of responsibilities
Negotiates agreement on project schedule and budgets
Directs or may develop the quality/testing strategies for the project
Tracks and reports on project and deliverable status and manages variances
Develops and manages issue escalation and the resolution process
Facilitates risk management planning, identification planning and control for projects commensurate with these projects
Helps evaluate business cases for vendor requirements.
Contributes to monitoring and managing vendor performance to ensure contract commitments are met.
Understands all project delivery life cycle phases and applies knowledge in the delivery of at least two phases of the project delivery life cycle. May oversee the receipt and deployment of hardware/software.
Ensures project alignment with business strategy and architecture.
Develops solutions that align with strategic direction and standards.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience in project management
Full knowledge of industry project management practices
Participates in internal and external forums to develop expertise in project management methodologies. Applies concepts to resolve issues in creative and effective ways
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, MBA
Health Care and Information Technology experience and knowledge.
PMP certified
